last year we visited Salamis old historic site, it was not exciting than we expected. It will be a wonderfull place if the north cyprus goverment put more money into this site. We noticed the local people are free to get in. Do we get free to get into the public places....such as Museum, Castle..ect. if we paid the local council tax. Any idea ?

No! If you have temporary residency, you may get a small reduction, depending on the venue, but generally speaking ...ZILCH!

If you show your local driving licence ( or presumably your residancy or work permit stamp ) you will pay the 'local' fee - I have done this at several places - and any non locals will pay the 'other' fee. For example when my sister came we went to Kyrenia castle - entrance fee 3.50TL ( local ) 12 TL ( non local ). Hope this helps.
