Lovely photos ... however you might want to avoid the sea around the hotel for a few days ... at least until all the diesel and petrol* emitted by the pwcs has been dispersed. * = apparently some use diesel and some use petrol, but they all emit the fuel they are using ...

Couldn't find anything about diesel PWC's but did find some interesting info about the over 75% reduction in emissions and even some that use catalytic converters which I found interesting. Also found this and thought it would be apt to insert it for a broader understanding. Against this, industry groups such as the Personal Watercraft Industry Association point out that environmental groups continue to cite pollution levels of pre-regulation watercraft and ignore the improvements made to newer models; and furthermore, that personal watercraft are unfairly singled out when they are no more polluting than other powered boats.

I don't think that a jet ski pollutes the sea more than the detergent used on the boats for the 'foam' parties .

Re ; message 10 "Bonnie advises (us) to stay out of the sea because of diesel emmited (emitted) from jet skis". Dear Cyprusjoker, Having not attended the said event, I wasn't entirely certain as to whether diesel or petrol pwcs were being used there, but your attempt in message 4 to belittle me by stating "A diesel jet ski, are you having a laugh" has somewhat backfired on you, hasn't it ? ... I await your apology. In any case, please refer to the link I gave in message 6 to get a better idea as to which use petrol and which use diesel. I would presume though that those using petrol are somewhat faster Oh, and as stated in message 2, both diesel and petrol pwcs do indeed pollute the sea ... and air ... and to a degree that is far far more than cars ... even if one incorporates the "75% reduction in emissions" into the calculation ... as stated by Proger in message 5. Öptüm sizleri Bonnie

Dear CJ After having trawled the internet again, I have to admit that you're probably right ... in spite of the link in message 6 and Girne's contribution in message 9 and http://www.autotradercy.com/boattrader/0-170_car_2004_YAMAHA_GP.html ... I have come to the conclusion that manufacturers almost certainly do NOT make diesel pwcs. So I apologise for that ... and I apologise for correcting your spelling Isn't nice when we all shake hands ... and end up friends
