At least their Bar Council is getting vocal and who knows their Government might start waking up- perhaps a kick in the but has come from the EU!! Will it filter here, I mean our Lawyers becoming vocal and admitting the system is worrying for the country as a whole!

It's in the interests of the advocates here, that things don't change. The existing system is a big earner for them. Lots of court cases earns them lots of money. Imagine the drop in their earnings if buyers here had no problems & PTP was abolished?

Does anybody else think that there has to be something fundamentally wrong with such a small population base supporting so many lawyers? It's as if the national hobby was suing other people!

Message 5 And boy are there plenty of these jobs, Hal ,you will probably find that with a population of 250,000 there is the highest number of estate agents, lawyers, BMW and Merc owners, per head of pop ,than anywhere else in the world, but as with all other Klondikes ,it doesnt last forever,

until advocates admit they have a duty of care in checking whether there are memos and mortgages on properties I doubt whether they'll be protesting about anything.
