I suffer with psoriasis and also have awfully dry scratchy skin....which when i get really hot, causes severe itching and consequently causes me a great deal of pain.

Well, i have come across an amazing cream that i think all you other fellow suffers could perhaps benefit from!!

I was given it by britvic, as my skin was looking and feeling particularly dry and flaky. Now, it is NOT a cure for psoriasis, as we all know, there is no cure...but it does smooth out and softens the dry scaly patches, and after a few days, you can hardly feel the said patches with your fingers! Dry skin absolutely becomes extremely soft and extremely pleasant to the touch...and needless to say...this is simply a marvelous cream!

It is made by Johnson's and is called Dreamy Skin...it is in a lilac tub, and can be found in any boots or chemist in the UK....i doubt it can be found here as yet. it is not expensive...and i promise you, you will notice the difference in just a few short days.

Thanks Vic

It was quite by chance that i got this cream....and although it is for dry skin...it works amazingly on psoriasis too...i do hope it works for you too.

When i was 19, i was also hospitalised for a few days...a very unpleasant experience...fortunately over the years it's never been quite as bad as when i was 19...but still, it does bother me, and this cream has helped me enormously.

again i hope it works for you too.

any 1 who suffers with any of the above and has a chlorinated swimming pool, i can happily advise you to change to zerochlor for a trouble free swimming experience and the water will not cause a reaction to your psoriasis or dry scratchy skin.

I've had psoriasis for 58 years and suffered badly in the UK. However, since living here for the last 27 years , it has been no problem until the last two summers, and now it is giving me problems again. The humidity seems to make it worse.

My daughter was covered with psoriasis two years ago. She started using the Dead Sea Products and it worked wonders, not a mark on her skin now. It is not cheap but very effective. Sorry don't know the particular cream but they do a full range, not sure who stocks it in the north but it is available in the south.

i would suggest aloe vera, either cream tablets or in liquid form. Has to be at least 90 per cent pure aloe. Not sure if you can get it north but you can south side. Holland and Barratt or chemists in UK certainly.

Lilli, although aloe may be good for dry skin, it really does nothing for psoriasis. :((

Psoriasis (for those that don't know, but would like to know) is skin that is constantly reproducing, very fast...it basically forgets, that it is healed or renewed...and so causes dry scaly patches of constant dead skin.

Moisturising creams alone, will not cure it...but some, as i mentioned in the first message, can control it's appearance, and texture and ease the tightness and itching...(which also accompanies very dry skin).

Don't forget though, that there are different types of psoriasis, and it is always a good idea to consult your doctor regularly for any new lotions, potions and potential cures...this is just something that i tried, and in all my 41 years, this is the first to actually improve the appearance and feeling of my skin, and i felt compelled to tell all sufferers of this....

'disclaimer'...I have nothing to do with Johnsons....unfortunately!!

Glad you have found a good cream that helps. When on a visit to Jerusalem/Israel, we visited

the Dead Sea, and our guide assured me that her husband, who suffered from psiorsias, had got

considerable benefit from swimming in it. It is very saline, and other chemicals I believe.

One of my sons has suffered with excema and I don't think it helps that condition.

yes a swimming pool f ree from chlorine will help, as chlorine aggravates it terribly, if the itching is really bad an antihistamine can help enormously, i us flexitol cream and hydomol ointment , both help to keep the skin softer and ease the dry symptoms, but i will also try dds cream. A new thing out that my doctor has just prescribed to me is Betesil 2.250mg medicated plaster this put on at night calms the inflamation and itching, but can only be used for short periods at a time, its really good.

All the best
