| My mother who is 80 is due to have her arthritic knees treated tomorrow by having them 'cleaned and scraped" rather than knee replacements has anyone had this done? does it help? would appreciate some advise plse. thks |

| I think this procedure is called 'arthroscopy'. Google have a lot of information about it. I apologise if I'm wrong and good luck to your Mum. |

| My wife had an Arthroscopy done for a damaged cartilage following a skiing accident. I'm not sure that they caryy out this procedure for Arthritic knees. Like Jean I could be wrong. |

| I was offered this treatment before I had my knee replacements, my own GP advised against it saying it doesn't always work. I had two knee replacements within 11 months and I have a new lease of life. |
