Salahi,a little reassuring to note you Cypriots are suffering with the heat too.Was it as hot last year?

I had enjoyed 2 days indoors watching a fantastic cricket game from Lords,UK,seeing 2 English batsmen score wonderful centuries, now it transpiresthat some of the Pakistani bowlers were cheating,no balls to aid on-line betting !!!!!

It's just not cricket !!!

Hiya Goonerboy, my boys in the restaurant are really finding it very hard. They have all lost weight, even though there is nothing to them. Next year will be worse, it starts august 1st till 29th. You think last year seemed warmer, I have struggled much more this year, the old blood must be getting thinner x

I've never heard of 'Accurist' weather forecasts - could you provide us with a 'link' please?

I did check the 'Accuweather' forecast for Kyrenia, and it's............SUNNY! -

http://www.accuweather.com/forecast.aspx?partner=accuweather&metric=1&loc=MEA|CY|CY002|KYRENIA

- as is the 'Windguru' forecast in the link given by JohnW in msg 7

I would not worry journey1, we need some respite from the heat, but don't think the rain will last that long, my brother is coming over on the 2nd Sept and expecting sun and hot weather, don't think he will be disappointed.

james i know i am probably being selfish, but i for one would welcome a drop of rain. Having irish skin i cant sit in the sun, so the rain drops may make me go rusty, then i can have the same golden glow you all have. Instead i have to rely on my freckles joining up xxxxxHope your brother has a great time/ Bring him over xx. Keith dont you know Accurist is a watch xxxx

Hubby and I are fasting. The first couple of days were difficult but you soon get in to a routine. It teaches you patience! I attack the ice water at night with a vengeance! And with a wet cloth wrapped around your neck during the day, it's much more comfortable. Eating would only raise your body temperature anyway when your internal organs are working hard to digest the food so perhaps there are some benefits in that respect!

Actually I thought I was finding August easier to manage than the end of July was!

thats a very good point pippie, We have given them the days off for ramadam so they can sleep. I didnt realise about how hard your internal organs have to work, would they not have to work as hard when your time comes to eat, as my boys will eat until sunrise. they cold towel is a great idea, even i will do that for me, him and the boys x. I admire you all for your devotion. I find it hard to give up my favourite drink and crisps for lent xx

eastendjoker - you're right there. My son was home from Australia during that time. He went back early in August and took the weather with him.

Really cold and miserable here today - bank holiday tomorrow, of course, - roll on 21st September

Hi Lilli, yes your organs will no doubt be working hard when you do eat but at night it's cooler anyway and in the morning we get up, eat, pray then back to bed for a couple of hours so ...!

Some snow would make me reallly happy. I can't understand how anyone can come here on purpose for the summer. Even the Cypriots can't cope with it.

As a real weather watcher back at home in the UK I did find it frustrating the lack of any proper forecast for TRNC during our stay. I knew it was going to be hot and sunny every day ( and I wasnt disappointed ! ) even recorded 40.8c on my portable device one day (Shade Temp)

I did notice the "Wunderground" site showing rain this week but amounts are minimal and its all computer generated without taking into account local conditions which would normally mean dry for several weeks to come and temps of 34c most days.

I would love to come back and see it raining, those roads must be a complete nightmare, especially that dual carriageway out of Kyrenia up that hill towards the two flags and soldier, good 360 surface.

I too was a weather watcher back in West Wales, and, being a keen gardener it was important to know especially the late frosts. The lack of a good forecast for Cyprus on television here is annoying, you have to rely on the computer.

But a few weeks ago,I was in Ukraine, there on their national television, watching European weather maps, they had the town of Aberystwyth !!!Well done,Ukraine.

Trying to understand TRNC weather,I ask my TC neighbours.I remember one comment earlier this year, when rain was forecast:"Yes it is going to rain, but where we do not know"

One can but hope!

But don't expect much.
