can someone please enlighten me as to why there are some important looking men looking around the properties around here..they look like they are measuring the size of each property.. and making notes..Could someone please tell me if this happend to the people whos homes were taken over by the banks. They turned up in a red 4x4, they have hard hats on and when i asked them what they were doing its the same old dont speak English thing..When I told them what i thought they were doing he very well did understand..with a smile ! I asked if its for the banks to come and get the keys ! repossess ? they are now in our garden.. Spider,X

Spider...sorry to be nosey, but I thought you rented?.....I didn't know you owned a property in NC ! So your property also has a mortgage on it?.....I'm sorry to hear that. Who is the builder and which Bank is involved ? Even an eternal optimist such as yourself, with a great positive outlook on life, seems sadly resigned to the property scandals in the TRNC. I hope you get things sorted.

Thank you for the post Spider, I hope this could be the start of parcelisation as mentioned above (fingers crossed) and not something more sinster. Has anybody else had this happen to their properties. Grateful for information. Thanks

Yes, they came to the houses on our street and measured the outside of the villas, land etc. before we got our deeds. They also valued it for KDV. Shortly after they left, two other men in uniform came around, I thought that they were police, but they were from the fire service checking the gas tank installation. They measured the distance of the tank from walls, fences and house.

What a s--te way of running a country. Could they not produce multilingual identification (it has to be 6 languages in the UK now) Government by fear! Call the Police Spyder and demand that they identify who they are and their purpose. Even if it is parcellisation they have an obligation to you. Unconsciouble wyn

| wyn they have gone now..and as always they did things their way, how they wanted and without regards of any explanation..You know how it is and I am very sorry to have to say this but its fact...they shook their heads saying they dont understand.. Yep the easy way out )) My guess is though that the were measuring and perhaps checking the boundaries..just my guess though but thats what its like here a guessing game..That Mursin bloke has a bloody cheek )) just my thoughts.. | They sound as if they are the men who measure up ground area and house footprint for the determination of tax due. Nothing sinister in that. |

Sorry to sound negative, but am sure that I read on another post that memorandums had been placed on some Boyut properties. From HBPG website: Boyut Construction buyers: Are you aware that a Memorandum has been placed on all Boyut properties where title remains in their name. This is due to unpaid loans. I am just the messenger and cannot confirm the above as genuine Paul

That would still not explain men in hard hats measuring plot sizes... it's got to be the land office folk.

Well I sent an email to both the Builder and Lawyer asking for some clarification as to what the men were doing. Lawyers reply was cant help unless know which Government Department- great when they refused to speak!! Builder I still await an answer! Im sorry but I smell a rat here, as Lilli pointed out yesterday was a Bank Holiday and would Governmental people be working - I doubt it!! I just hope that perhaps I am becoming too cynical about everything and trusting fellow man has gone away at this time!! Just do not seem to be able to trust anyone in any business in TRNC!

So sorry ricooper123 but this is a very old thread. What more do I want ? well as I am able to read the 44 and see for myself whats going on I guess I dont need anything else ! But maybe I have a question for you. What are people intending to do ? Is there anything that can be done ? When is the Auction and has everyone been informed in writing, has anything been shoved under doors or left on gates ? And will everyone be going to the coffee shop again ? Sorry that is a few more than one questions. Spider,X

just to let you know we also had two men appear at our door yesterday, a friend noticed that they were looking around our garden, so I asked them what they were doing, they just said they were from the tax office and did I rent the property or own it? I actually own it, but they wanted to know which houses in our area are rented, I said nothing. Again, they produced no identification and carried on door knocking! I think they are clamping down on people not paying their tax on rental properties.
