The BRS gives a range of likely charges between 85tl and 135tl... Well I'd rather pay the lower figure than the higher one, I'm sure we all would so I thought we could list which lab charged what so we can avoid the expensive ones... Just a thought to reduce this extra dose of pain prescribed by the system!!! Compass

I just had my work permit blood works done and it was 60 tl. I am not sure if the tests are the same as residency, but I would have thought so.

Believe that Erduran at the Bellapais traffic lights also charge 100TL for bloods. Botanica ...where do you go for bloods at 60TL? Thanks.

boerboel No increase in 3 years!!! That almost sounds a bargain.... 100 tl I suppose is quite reasonable for the test. I think I too paid around that figure for my original application. BoTanica I too would like to know where you had your tests done, they may be different, as you say, but it would be worth checking with your lab if you let us know where it is. Thanks, C'pass

Is it essential to go to the police stn first to get a bit of paper or can you go direct to the lab as they should know what is needed?

Compass blood test is one of those "items" where I probably wouldn't always go for the cheapest option! Harold

Harold Agreed, but as I understand it you can only use "approved" labs so hopefully they are all of a reasonable standard, although of course there no guarantees no matter what you pay!!! Compass

batgirl Yes as I understand it you must first attend the police station and if your papers are in order they give you a form, suitably stamped of course by them, which you then take to a lab of your choice. The results are given to you a few days later in a sealed envelope, YOU must not break the seal, but hand it into the police as it was given to you!!! Hope this helps Compass

| Compass Unless the rules have been changed in the last 3 years (very likely!!!!!) the Blood Test results do NOT go back to the Police Station, you take them UNOPENED to Immigration at Lefkosa, but no doubt if I am wrong there will be someone out there who will very quickly put me right. The thought of having to queue for possibly another 2 hours at the Police Station to hand in the results doesn't bear thinking about having already done it twice, once to get your slip to take to the lab, then back again with your lab receipt which they put with your paperwork and they then send to Lefkosa. | We used the lab as described in message 7 for our first tests 3 years ago and the price was 80TL then. Very professional and efficient and I am terrified of needles! |

come on aylin Erduran Lab near Bellapias traffic lights is the main testing facility for the other labs of the same name. We went to the clinic a few 100 meters from HSBC (same st as private hosp) but collected from the main lab. Actually paid there too. They charge 100tl so 20% discount would be worth having.
