Fish restaraunt in Karsiyaka

Went to the fish restaraunt on the sea front in karsiyaka called Sirenyeli ( sorry about the spelling) last week and it was very good value. I was quite shocked to see a chap called Hamit running it as he was the head waiter at Niazis restaraunt in girne for many years for those that remember him. Started with the meze which was a good size and portions replaced when plate emptied. Then had the sea bream with chips and a large salad, followed by fruit and finished off with a coffee and brandy. Cost of this 25tl each. They also had steak on the menu which stated that it had been hung for 14 days prior to cooking, and the prices were around 28tl which also included the meze starter etc. A lovely cool location sitting over the sea. Well worth a look.

Would this place be the little one down the road past the butchers shop, and around the back some place ? Please could you post directions for people to fine, thanks.

You could walk from yours across the fields unless those little men with hard helmuts stop you. lol



From Lapta come towards karsiyaka pass the Simena Hotel on your right carry on until you reach the coffee shops/square on your right and then take the left hand fork road down to the sea and its in front of you. An old fellow used to run it. It has a little bay next to it. It will be nice and warm for the coming winter months inside too.

Yes it is a really great restaurant and Hamit is a good host. The full fish meze is fantastic and good value at 25TL a head.
