I know it has been in discussion for some time that Karsiyaka is now too large to be self supporting under a Muhtar. There were options proposed for merger with Lapta which I believe was discarded. But I cannot remember seeing in the weekly comic as to what the outcome was.



Why raise the issue? Talking with Cypriot friend, my Turkish is not good enough for full conversation, this morning and says new Belidyse comes into operation, probably end of Septmeber.



So does anyone have further info?

A friend of mine spoke to the old Muhtar today and he said it will be merging with Lapta at the end of September.
