Thank you Iceman for your comments. This dog was rescued from the street a couple of weeks ago and he is obiously a pure Alsatian.

He would have been a family dog just outside at night. Their last dog was always with them every where they went he was a family member but he still slept outside at night. shame you have lost him a good home.

deniz1, i think you are being a little unkind to lena. knowing her well, she will look for a home that she believes is in the best interests of the dog. lena is probably the most experienced doggy person on the island so please respect her views, she will noy release the dog until she can find that and in the meantime the dog will remain save and protected with her.

I dont mean to be unkind to her i am sure she is doing a wonderful job but to pass up a wonderful home for him seems a shame. I knew their old dog who died of old age and she had a wonderful life. Any way i hope he finds a good home.

"lena is probably the most experienced doggy person on the island "

That would answer the question I was going to ask about how someone can know a street dog is 100% Alsation.

I am with Lena on this one. I know she has found excellent homes for many dogs she has rescued and she wants each and every one to go to a home where they will be safe and looked after. With any good rescue centre in the UK, their decision is final and most vet the homes and gardens before letting any dog go to ensure a happy life for them. Lena is doing her bit to make sure this is not another dog that may be dumped when the owners get tired of them for whatever reason. By the way, I am not suggesting your friends would do this but she obviously has her rules.

It's my lucky day today!

We find an owner for little Tango, a nice couple living not so far from us.

Thank you Earlybird and Rowan for your support!
