We have been lots of times - never had a problem (apart from not winning !). It is a great eve/afternoon out. No entrance fee - race card is free - lots of seating or standing areas - tote bets start at 2 euro - cafe/bar (prices quite high) - can go right up to horses in enclosure before races. Fully televised. It is an international course and there are often UK/Ire/German/USA horses competing.

We had to laugh at the Thomson/First Choice tec tourists who arrived from South resorts on organised trip from their hotels - they had paid 35 euro each and the only differance was they had coach/ate in a seperate area in a tent/ watched races from wooden bridge - then they all chose to sitt/watch/bet with everyone else who had paid nothing because the viewing and atmosphere was great in the stands. The same meal in the cafeteria was 8 euro !!

There is a webs ite that gives you times and advance cards of each months races.

Go and enjoy.

Not sure about that but i would have thought if you are just going to the races/in the stands or seating areas and just want usual facilities - and do not want the organised meal in the tent/seperate viewing area etc which is probably a set price per head - then you just turn up. I have never seen anyone at the entrance checking anyone/numbers coming in. They do not have turnstiles or anything - you simply park and walk in through a large entrance collecting your race card on the way through. We last went with a group of 10.

Perhaps their web site will give more info.

Hi the2ofus,

Sorry to keep bothering you but did you park this side of the crossing and walk across or did you park at the other side.

Thanks Tatty.

No probs Tatty

We parked the other side - go over crossing - turn R (at GC chck point) then R again - follow the road round to the left (you are following the racetrack wall) and take first left (there is a little shop on the corner) - follow road and signs for car park. We have parked several times in the Members Car Park - free and no Qs or probs with TC plate. There is quite a lot of other parking areas but i think you have to pay and don't forget it is euros. Take euros with you as the exchange rates at the track are terrible.

I think you would be able to park up this side and walk over if you wanted to - people walk over to shop so why not to bet !!!

The track has nice centre displays and views - especially of the giant TC flag on the mountain which looks amazing when it first lights up at dusk as a backdrop for the horses. Funny that that background is never seen on the world televised races !
