Simbas, blade and spider, Thanks for your support, anyone who has problems in anyway with the TRNC Government, Advocate's, Estate Agents,or Banks, please join us in a united front, at the Turkish Embassy If you are in the UK on Monday 4th October to let the Turkish Government know how we all feel about the way the TRNC has treated us! My Banner is either going to say "NO DEEDS NO MONEY" or "NO MORE MONEY TO CYPRUS FROM EU CITIZENS" or" TURKEY MUST STOP THE CORRUPTION IN THE TRNC" Or maybe you can think of a better one?

And just as a matter of interest, what colour was your donkey cart that you had before all us brits bought en- mass ? if we all fcked off, you'd have to bring it out once again as the economy would colllapse...... then what would you do for an income ?? |

You do realise you are going to be asked leave considering the neighbourhood dont you, plus have you notified the relavent parties that need to be made aware of these actions??? Would it not be more beneficial if you protested at the Turkish Embassy in the TRNC. That way it is two birds with one stone plus not as much of an expense It would highlight to fact to the TRNC Government what you are doing??? I can even help you out with the address T.C. Lefkoşa Büyükelçiliği Bedrettin Demirel Caddesi, Lefkoşa, KKTC. Tel.: +90 392 227 2314 Fax: +90 392 227 2209 Or You could even go to the TRNC Embassy in Anakara surely. Sorry this is just the opinion of somebody who has been watching this forum and situation for while. Just for the record I have been visiting Cyprus for at least 14 years and spent 5 years living there and have bought 2 properties.

erictheviking, We have protested outside the Turkish Embassy in London before, they can ask us to leave, but when we don't they can't really do anything Hopefully TRNC victims will be outside the TRNC Embassy in the TRNC, at least those who live or are on holiday in the TRNC, (who knows)? it would be nice to think they would support us? (can you make it on the 4th October?) Don't think any of us will be going to Ankara, unless you are erictheviking, if you are I can post you a banner?

Well I dont have any need to protest as I was lucky on both occasions and have the correct title deeds for both properties and they are in my possession. Unfortunately I do think this is losing battle this is only due to the manner in which the the land was acquired and then how the land was then portioned up and sold.

Measey thank you for your support! are you around London on the 4th October? It would be nice to meet you! erictheviking you certainly are a lucky bunny, twice lucky! It maybe a losing battle, but the war will carry on! Enjoy your properties! How the land was acquired portioned or sold, is nothing to do with me, or the hundreds of other victims, who are paying the price! Yorgozlu, Don't know who Mr Richard Head is? and I have never lived off benefits in my life! even though the TRNC has stolen my life saving!

I think he means Dick Head, and as a british citizen he can claim benefits providing he lives there, now you cant claim if you are out of the country as border controls are set up for this reason. They work hand in hand. I do not think for one second he does claim. Yorg is making a point. This is his country and Musims, its thier motherland and I know for a fact that they do not like how we have been treated any more than we do.

My wife joined the forum the other day, thanks to all who replied to her post. When we first looked into moving to the trnc we viewed properties that were in our modest budget, we were blown away,a 3 bedroom villa for £90,000. Fantastic climate,£80,000 left to boost our pension after selling our home. What more can a normal british worker hope for.Really a lot. Firstly a goverment that can live up basic western standards, secondly, forget that ,if you want to live the dream you've got to fight for it. Good luck with the london protest but a mass protest in the trnc by all brits whether you have title deeds or not will go further to influence the trnc government.Disclaimer:- I will not be held responsible if you are all deported.

Hi Jeannie, My wife and I are coming over to TRNC in november to see for ourselves. Yes I have been influenced by what I have read,I can't believe that a country does not have basic laws to protect anyone who lives within its borders. All I have read on this web site is extreme positive or negative.Remember together we stand devided we fall

| Katenianholia, North Cyprus is a grand place ... just make certain though you tell the estate agent you will only hand over your money when you have the property deeds in your hand ... maybe though to show you are serious about the property you could give the agent a couple of hundred pounds beforehand. | cyprusman3 I dont think its all about aga victims I thought it was about the whole property scandal. Yep I agree the estate agents and Gary Robb british but its not about just that and not just about people thinking TRNC is corrupt. You know that its about a corrupt at its worse and in its simplest out of date legal system that is allowing this to happen. Its happening to TCs who are just as frustrated and wherever theres a scandal of course there will all nationalities involved. You must know as well as I and others do that the government could turn this round easily and turn it to their advantage! There has got to be murkier things swimming about underneath anyway still taking my dog for a walk. |

apc2010 AS much as I am in a similar position to many in getting deeds and now going through courts I also am of the same opinion as yourself that media coverage and aiming at the developers and agents may hit harder. As long as the pressure is kept on and its not another day wonder as happens even in the most serious of events unfortunately its human nature and too many other horrendous things happening around the world for nit to last more than probably a days interest. It is not going to happen ovenight but I support TRNC victim in all her efforts even if I cant be there in person I just think we need an ongoing hardhitting strategy that may not help people like me but will for the future I

cyprusman3 Gary Robb wasn't the only Director of Aga the others were either Turkish or Turkish Cypriot one being Akan Kursat, and another Tahir Soycan (who seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth)! why are these not being brought to account for what they have done, to hundreds of innocent victims? And how come the Government gave Gary Robb a Kimlit Card, when they knew he was a wanted criminal? Aga is very murky waters,

if indeed you are going to protest then perhaps you should decide what to protest about? The problem in the TRNC is that there is no specific performance law meaning that if you or I make an agreement with a developer to purchase a property the he/she is to develop then they actually have no obligation to finish that property and deliver it to us despite having been paid in full for it. You can sue them but only for the return of your money (and losses if provable) and not for the deeds. The fact is that if the TRNC changed the law and forced such contracts to be enforceable or indeed had a law such as in the UK where a purchaser can serve a notice on the developer forcing them to complete then the government would be paid many £1000's in taxes that currently remain unpaid. So if you were to aim your protests at a change in this law and propose an amendment to cover this on the basis that it will boost the economy, revive the market and be beneficial then I suggest the ch

People formerly banned under one identity are not supposed to take on another to circumvent the ban. I would maintain that ABAG's banning applies to all members of ABAG posting on issues affecting ABAG. Otherwise the ban is useless. So Trish or Jenny is it. You never contributed to this forum as a member of ABAG either directly or indirectly? If so, I withdraw my comment.

Groucho, Although I am a member of Abag, I personally have never posted on Cyprus 44 under their heading, In fact I have never posted on Cyprus 44 at all before, under any other name, there have been many posters on this forum using various pseudonyms, but I have not been one of them! You can either chose to believe me or not Groucho, the best thing if you decide not to, is to get in touch with the forum admins! Whatever my name is, at least my E Mail is there for everyone to see, unlike some, I try to be honest, just trying to fight my corner, there have been many banned members who have returned under different guises! is it just me you have a problem with? even though I never contributed as Abag Abag have worked long and hard over many years trying to rectify the terrible wrongs inflicted on them, perhaps they never will, but why would you want to stop them trying?

To have banned ABAG was a churlish and unnecessary act on the part of Forum Admin. - quite obviously enacted to protect the reputation of TRNC. In actual fact, such action has been more detrimental! Forum Admin. should hastily re-instate ABAG's membership, never mind stating that it is 'under review' - what a cop-out!

TURKISH EMBASSY IN LEFKOSA time to be announced soon................................. but candlelit gives you some idea of the time we are aiming for. The silent vigil approach reflects that we do not have the same degree of freedom that Turkish Cypriots enjoy in London. | I know I am a voice in the Cyprus 44 Wilderness! and I really don't want to offend anyone:- but the 4th OCTOBER 2010 IS A VERY IMPORTANT DATE:- If you have a home without DEEDS? If you have a home with NO WATER OR ELECTRICITY? If you have a home with a MORTGATE/MEMORANDUM on it? If you have a home that has been AUCTIONED or ABOUT TO BE AUCTIONED? If you have NO HOME BUT HAVE PAID MOST OF YOUR LIFE SAVINGS? If you feel some empathy for all of the above? It really doesnt matter your Religion, Colour or Creed, whether you are in the TRNC or UK If in the TRNC it will be at the TURKISH CONSULATE IN LEFTKOSIA IF YOU ARE IN THE UK it will be at the TURKISH EMBASSY IN LONDON! | Why finish so early surely as some of us have to work and woulddearly love to be there. Perhaps a meeting of like minded people in Girne would be better not a demo just a meeting then perhaps a tour around the law courts and banks, will try and make the u/k "meet" |

yorgozlu sorry - no offence intended but as you know you do not need to be a British National to protest in the UK, you do have to be a Turkish Cypriot to protest in TRNC, so we will just be a group of short sighted pensioners and non pensioners, quietly standing outside the Turkish Cypriot Embassy trying desperately not to set fire to each other with our candles and if some opportunist media happen along at the same time. WELL SO BE IT. We hope for a good mix of TC's and non TC's, we are aware that TC's are victims too. THE START TIME WILL BE SLIGHTLY BEFORE THE TURKISH EMBASSY CLOSES SO THAT WE CAN DELIVER THE MAIL. DETAILS TO FOLLOW By the way, they call themselves the EMBASSY OF TURKEY, North Cyprus - not a Consulate. see webpage.

nilmoney Come and join us in Lefkosa if you have the time - can't promise the noise you get in London but but you will get a warm welcome (the heat from the candles). The reason a trip round the courts and the banks in Girne wont work is that there is no Turkish Embassy there and if there is a solution it will be thanks to the Turkish Government, TRNC government are skint. I had thought about chaining myself the the counter in the banking hall at AKFINANS BANK in GIRNE, that is the branch where all my troubles emanate from, trouble is it has been done before, Emily Pankhurst's mob beat me to it. apc2010 Media coverage for the London end is assured.

negativenick, I agree they have done nothing certainly for Aga victims, and from what I can see nothing for any of the others!! But there comes a point where you have to stand up and be counted, it can't continue, and as Pauline says the Turkish Embassy, I know from the past is certainly where we get the most reaction! Because they have done nothing, I for one won't just walk away! If you care please be there! (could you do a one man Demo in Thailand apparantly most of Aga victims money winged it's way there) as someone said to me at Robb's trial, are you a Cyprus victim or a Thailand victim)

If you do't try, how will you ever know if YOU could have made a difference. Change is brought about by people doing it - not talking about it. |

Wish that I could be there, but I'll be working in Azerbaijan. However, I'd be very grateful for some some advice and support, as to how best to complain to the TRNC Embassy here, in Baku, about the misleading information it is passing out to Azeri citizens about Residency requirements on entry to TRNC, and the general legal issues concerning property purchase in Kibris. I know that many Brits have had a hard time in the past, but citizens of other countries are also suffering. United we stand, et cetera! All advice very gratefully received.

Unfortunately, now that the Brits have wisened up (a little) the net for buyers is being spread further afield. Perhaps we should have details in the press in those countries to help spread the news of the pitfalls but as TRNC Victim says, we are the 'grey brigade' a little long in the tooth with perhaps just enough energy left to try to right the wrongs done the ABAGS and K5's and those who have already bought righted. It is not that we dont care about new potential victims - we do - would that I were 25 and not 65, I would be trawling the world putting everyone on red alert. NO KOCAN NO MONEY

Perhaps the fact that the last part of the process to get your PTP is permission from the army (The Turkish Army) perhaps because the IPC is funded with Turkish money. Perhaps because the TRNC are skint and there isnt a hope in hell that help will come from that direction. Perhaps because the TURKISH AND TRNC flags fly alongside each other on every official building . Perhaps because this is the TURKISH Republic of Northern Cyprus, or perhaps we are simply desperate and will take help from wherever..........enough reasons yorgozlu REMEMBER 4th OCTOBER 2010 PROTEST IN LONDON - SILENT VIGIL IN LEFKOSA

Yorg, you're right the TRNC has nothing to do with Turkey but unfortunately Turkey has a lot to do with the TRNC. If you want me to explain what they are doing in the TRNC then I'll start with running the police who refused to investigate when Pauline's partner was nearly run down. The Commander of the Security forces is Major General Mehmet Daysal appointed by Turkey's Supreme Military Council (YAS). This information is from wikipedia which says "The Turkish Cypriot Security Force was commanded by a General officer of the Turkish Army, who had both operational and administrative responsibilities, as well as control over the police force." Might be wrong but you can check here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_of_Northern_Cyprus

yorgozlu, The TRNC Offices in London have not LISTENED for 7 years, why would they listen now! I have been outside their offices with my placard and have talked to them, and believe me it has not got me anywhere," the issues are with the TRNC", but maybe the motherland, will take some notice?, after all they pay most of the bills! The British/Irish situation is very different, the Southern Irish don't pay UK's bills! and UK don't pay Southern Ireland's bills! Work it out for yourself! However Bedford Square will not be left without our presence, of that I promise you! IF YOU CARE PLEASE BE THERE

" ....going by your above comments....... Does it now mean that EU has taken over Greece, because they paid their bills. Stop kidding yourself,TRNC is an independent estate that gets financial help from Turkey for obvious reason, otherwise there'd have been over million TRNC citizens long by now, recognised or not........by the rest of the world, inc.UK. | yorgozlu (mess 99) The TRNC is not independent and both of us know that? It maybe can depend on it's nightclubs, and it's casino's, but for how long? it has a long history of dirty money! Oh and for obvious reasons in your words needs financial help from Turkey!!! that speaks volumes! the TRNC really doesn't care about investors,(who are left with nothing) doesn't care about people who have given them their life savings for retirement (and are left with with nothing) but maybe cares about future investors (or future victims) because without future victims the TRNC can't survive! Or maybe you think that Nightclubs, and Casino's are all the TRNC needs? "another Las Vegas"? If you are in London on the 4th October, I like Pauline would love to meet you, and I agree with her don't shave off your beard! And thank you for wishing us Good Luck! I think we might need it! |

Now I have heard it all. It is o k to rip off the Brits because they brought over dirty money. yorgo, hang your head in shame. The vast majority of Brits, sold up and used the cash that they had saved from a lifetime of working, looking to buy the dream home to retire in. The rogue builders were lining up to part us from our money and then double dip by either, running off with it or mortgaging after the sale. Believe me, if it had been dirty money, the sort of people who deal in dirty money would know how to deal with the rogues here. We have been lambs to the slaughter simply because we are innocents abroad. You are so arrogant yorgo, we all care about the TC's pity you don't reciprocate. You should be ashamed of such comments. The only really dirty brit I know of is GARY ROBB and you all linerd up to welcome him. The only land he deserves is one plot, six feet deep and I would gladly dig that hole and push him in.

As far as I AM CONCERNED it was on Turkeys watch these wrong doings were allowed to happen and all we want is our money back - no new money. You would prefer we all shut up and slink off back to the UK so you dont have to witness the wrong doing of your country. Tough, we are not going to shut up until Justice is done. So yorgo, what you do or do not think is irrelevent. If Turkey left here tomorrow, you would be lost..........

msg 106; It does not matter what one might say against what your late husband had gone through because NOTHING would bring him back. Not even telling you how SORRY I am for what happened to you. However; "The non existing state, as you call it deserves everything it gets, it doesn't need me knocking it, it does a good job on it's own!" I %100 agree with last part of your above comments, because, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_population this is what TRNC been up against for the past 36 years. As much as there has been alot of wrong doings by individuals,TRNC in fact deserves a medal for still existing. As for Turkey/TRNC relationship,if you think for one second that Turkey is here for us you'd only be kidding yourself.

Well Hey up! a good North of England saying, the Manchester Clog lady is back 4th October in London is a Protest at the Turkish Embassy with our questions which I will put out on this board when complete before the 4th! Has anyone got any question they would like us to ask the Turkish Embassy in London, if you have and you don't want to put out on a public board please E Mail agabuyersactiongroup@yahoo.co.uk and we will add to our list. If you don't mind your question being broadcast on a public board feel free to put on here, but please only sensible questions (stupid questions will go in the bin)! IF YOU CARE PLEASE BE THERE EITHER IN THE TRNC OR IN UK

Since the Turkish Embassy only opens from 8.30 till 11.30 in Lefkosa handing something in during our Vigil will not be an option. I have written to the Embassador making it clear that ours IS not A PROTEST but an act of desperation, that our beef is with the TRNC system that allows this abomination to happen and our Vigil is a last ditch attempt to bring it to the attention of the Turkish Government in a plea for their help from a JUST and COMPASSIONATE state. I have NOT been TOLD we cannot assemble in our Peaceful Candlelit Vigil outside the Embassy. 4th OCTOBER 2010 Assemble outside the Turkish Embassy - bring only a CANDLE and means of lighting it. START TIME 5.00 pm. - FINISH TIME 8.00 p.m. (unless moved on sooner) we will be quiet and dignified and respectful to all. This is a symbolic gesture. We ARE not rebels or rabble - Just ordinary folk in an extraordinary situation.

Surely some of Cyprus 44 Forum members would like to put questions to the Turkish Embassy in London? these questions will also be presented to MEP's in Brussels! Whatever......................... Speak now or forever hold your peace? or continue with the TRNC Government's approach "See No Evil, "Speak no Evil" "Hear no Evil" It's your choice? And it's bloody raining in the UK! IF YOU CARE PLEASE BE THERE!

Ms Diana Wallis is on the Petitions Committee (PETI) in the European Parliament and is inundated with petitions from residents in North Cyprus, many of them from British Ex-Pats.The property issues, similar to those in Spain are a cause of much concern within Europe and Ms Wallis is personally pursuing cases and working alongside affected groups. Unfortunately Ms Wallis will be unable to travel down to London to take part in this protest. However she would like to offer her support. Diana would love to let people know that she is supporting victims in Parliament. Greg Mulholland MP for Leeds North West will voice support for the Protest in the House of Commons. House of Lords voice of support to follow. Aga Buyers Action Group Bring a banner. Light a candle.

apc2010 You could well be right - but IT IS LIP SERVICE not received previously and forgive us, if we who actually do something, get a little excited when we do receive a little support. If you get enough people talking a little, you will achieve more than if you get one person talking a lot. Nothing will ever change without people doing something, however little, to try and change it. Details today on North Cyprus Free Press regarding the PEACEFUL CANDLELIT VIGIL IN LEFKOSA ON 4th OCTOBER 2010 from 5.00 pm. to 8.00 p.m EMPHASIS ON PEACEFUL. COME ON - lets throw some more mud at that wall - never know when it will start sticking................

apc2010 (mess 121) The trouble is that although officially TRNC doesn't exist, it has an awful lot of EU money, that's my money and a lot of other honest EU citizens money, and until the TRNC stops it's corrupt practices against EU citizens, MEP's should be working to stop any money from going into this unrecognized Country, and lip service or not things in Brussels seem to be awakening to that fact, at long last

SEE CYPRUS TODAY - COLUMN WRITTEN BY IPEK OZERIM Today 25th September 2010 On October 4, two important protests will take place led by Britons fed up of having their property rights violated by the TRNC. One will be outside the Turkish Embassy in London, organised by the Aga Buyers Action Group, the other on the same day will be a candlelit vigil outside the Turkish Embassy in Lefkosa led by Pauline Read of Kulaksiz. Please get out and support whichever one you can - your future well-being depends on it. End of article

Pauline is aware that this vigil was going to take place anyway and really would like it known she is a follower not the leader, although she is not aware of who the leader is and will gladly carry the mantle if it does not cause offence. She is happy to maximise the publicity in any way she can.

I fear that the Turkish Ambassador's answer will simply be: 'You all ignored the advice from your own Foreign & Commonwealth Office - what do you expect us to do about the predicament that you brought entirely on yourselves by ignoring that advice?' The answer could be: 'The TRNC government continually gave property buyers credible assurances that we would have their full support. This has proved not so - so, as the administrative occupying power [ because that is what you, in effect, are], your ethical and moral obligation, presuming you consider yourselves to be honest and law-abiding people, and as principal 'paymaster' to TRNC, to instruct, or if necessary, force the TRNC government to amend the laws that have allowed so many of us to be despicably cheated.'

Well having a secret service policeman waiting fopr her outside the court with Geoffs cheerleaders hasnt deterred Pauine one little bit. Tenakoutou, he didnt say we couldnt protest, just wanted details and an idea of numbers. Good news I know of some TC's who are definitely coming and some Turkish people. Pauline will see the Ambassador before the Vigil, the Vigil was front page in Turkish Speaking Newspaper with publicity for the London Protest too this morning. I did not find out until tonight but it explains the policeman turning up. See you all Monday???

TRNCvictim/Msg 147 - re. my message 146: 'force the TRNC government to amend the laws that have allowed so many of us to be SO SNEAKILY AND despicably cheated.' Please do use my suggestion for an answer - you've got nothing to lose by trying to make the Turkish Ambassador ashamed on behalf of his government. Poor man - it's not HIS fault - but he should be Turkey's eyes and ears in TRNC - the same for his counterpart in London. Please note: I have, for the sake of emphasis, added 'SO SNEAKILY AND'! Far better to 'call a spade a spade' as you say in UK - in NZ, many dispense with euphemisms and are more crude - we say: 'call a pig's arse a pigs arse'!

Tenakoutou, Hav e you ever known Pauline mince words, she is not about to start, she will have a full and frank discussion with the Ambassador and if you have anything you wish to send in document form send it to North Cyprus Free Press and malcolm will pass it on, She will add it to the sheaf of paperwork she has already received. That applies to everyone. We have an opportunity to hand in our individual stories, she is happy to act as courier. This is not just ABAG or Kulaksiz 5, this is everyone who has ever been shafted. plus those of you who's property values are plummeting because of this. TRNC - behave - he was quite nice really about a 6 to 7 I would say. PROTEST 4th Oct. outside Turkish Embassy in London 10.30am to 4.30 pm VIGIL 4th Oct. outside Turkish Embassy Lefkosa 5.00 to 8.00 p.m. TUTUSKA people will be there - the fatherless person did not pay up as he promised in the press. They are waiting for the next auction date.

girne/Msg 162: 'Why not join the embargoed group and help Turkish Cypriots out of this 'embargoed' crisis' Haven't you yet realised that many disaffected and thoroughly cheated expatriates and sundry other foreign property buyers might be slightly reluctant to join *'Embargoed!'? Until the TRNC government and the 'powers that be' make an effort to combat all this endemic corruption and institutes an ethical and moral legal system that recognises 'human rights' for all TRNC inhabitants, your *organisation, while commendably making every effort to draw the world's attention to the plight of TRNC citizens, by winning the 'sympathy vote', regrettably and undoubtedly, will be having the opposite effect. Your cause is admirable; you work tirelessly towards the lifting of embargoes, with the ultimate aim of self-determination for your country - everyone realises that factor.

Msg 163/Continued: However, it is abundantly clear, to everyone else, that the TRNC 'Rich Club', now cosseted in the [relatively short term - if they could only realise it] security of their wealth, appear to be smugly satisfied with the 'status quo' and, by their total inaction, have publicly demonstrated their resistance to any beneficial change, whatsoever. I am sure that many 'outsiders' might proffer the sound suggestion that your group 'Embargoed!' might be more successful in its members' endeavours by firstly eliciting the support and, hopefully, the intervention and remedial action of the Turkish government in addressing the current TRNC shortcomings and the general 'malaise' that is currently blighting the TRNC's reputation overseas. Now, should your *group adopt such action, as 'another cheated foreigner', I would then be most willing to join your group, with my most avid support!

I've always wondered why the UN sanctions are against the people of the TRNC and not Turkey... Money! ah that's it. TRNC, a relative drop in the ocean... upsetting Turkey - big losses for big business... such a principled stand.

Glyn, we know that and cannot thank people like Ipek, Fevzi, Ismail and John enough they have seenKulaksiz 5 through some very dark days, but now there does seem a very small chink of light and not just for Kulaksiz 5, but we cannot ever let it go on the back burner again. Keep it high profile, embarrass. and encourage them in equal parts. Staying in the background will achieve nothing. protest or vigil attend one on 4th October, your presence can make a difference.

TRNC victim. Are Embargoed members likely to join you on Monday. They have worked tirelessly for recognition of this and I will now use the Greek description, Pseudo State, because like it or lump it, that is what it is and surely, must be so fed up of the Government they are trying to support, constantly shooting them in the feet with all the negative press that is now coming out of here? Fraud, lawlessness, corruption, nepotism and most of all lack of respect for peoples' basic human rights. I wonder how they feel to have all their wonderful effort shadowed by their disgrace of a government.

Hi Natalie, I was soo impressed with the Ambasador and yes his support and sympathies are with us all, he looked visibly moved. Of course I was with Pauline, she goes nowhere without me. She has written what she could about the meeting on NCFP today but obviously not all. TRNC victim, you must read it - always give you equal coverage.

BAD NEWS I AM AFRAID --Our vigil is delayed BUT not cancelled. It cannot take place on MONDAY as arranged due to the bureaucratic red tape thrown at me. Should have official permission by Wednesday so looking to perhaps the following Monday the 11th Keep looking here and on North Cyprus Free Press - story on there shortly. I am afraid all the publicity brought it to the attention of the police who called me in, they helped me compose letter of application and even accompanied me to the District Office. To go ahead now, knowing I need permission would invite arrest and possible deportation and for the sake of a few days - too much of a risk.

ACTA are a very good assocation to have on side TRNC victim, they do have a Protest of their own in London on Sunday, so how fortunate for you that so many of its members will be in capital and be able to attend your Protest the following day. All good positive stuff. Combine this with the other well known Turkish Cypriots who plan to attend, plus the press corps and 'special guests', I am positively 'cock-a-hoop' for you. Now our Vigil is delayed Pauline wishes she had the money to get on a plane to join you. Kulaksiz, Abdurrahman Guney, Yuksel Yilmaz and Akfinans Bank Limited have made sure that her finances are restricted, perhaps if she asked them nicely, they would buy her a ticket?? PROTEST outside TURKISH EMBASSY Monday 4th Ocotber (this Monday)from10.30a.m. to 4.30p.m For anyone with property related problems - bring your Mom, your Dad, your sister, your brother, your cat your dog, next doors parrot - the more the merrier. Make it a real event...........

| TRNC Our thoughts our prayers and our love are with you and all the brave victims of the Property Fiasco that is the property market in the TRNC. I wish I could be with you, but if you feel a little chill on your shoulder, you will know you are not alone. When the light is thrown on this mess, there remains nowhere for them to hide. Hopefully, next Monday (TRNC Government willing) our candles will radiate so much light, there will be no corners for the crooks and wrong doers to hide in. | Pauline just had a phone call from the security service in Lefkosa to see if she still planned to go ahead with the Vigil - do you think they would like to arrest her - one way of shutting her up. Personally I think she would be shouting twice as loud if she were deported. We will do it legally - if we can. |

A country that took years to deport a notorious wanted criminal, and still harbours a few, that would intimidate a person intending to hold a silent vigil does not bear thinking about. Maybe they are afraid your candle will set world opinion alight. The have no compassion they have no honour and they are centuries away from getting it. Protest may open up a free flight home for the many that are leaving. Why pay for a flight if the government will give you a free one for waving a banner on the wrong day.

I doubt very much that Pauline Read, or those with property problems, will be allowed to have a visible presence which could be picked up by the media. Look what happened to HBPG back in 2006. Nothing has changed. Plus, the victims will feel too intimidated and too tired to make a stand if permission for the vigil is refused. I suggest if the vigil is off then they get together and do what K5 did, apply in groups to the ECHR. I'm sure Pauline could get a copy of the application to use as a template

There will be a Vigil - Pauline is confident she will get permission. Mr Ersin Tatar expressed a wish to meet with the organisers of the Vigil (he called it Protest) in Cyprus Today this week. Strange the security police have no trouble finding Pauline, guess she will have to phone him. Can you imagine the negative publicity that can be engendered with a No and the positives that can come out of a Yes. Wait till they see YENI DUZEN tomorow. I cant understand why the HBPG didnt get more coverage through the Turkish language media, approach them once and they come back to you.

letting the Vigil go ahead should be so easy but I've got the feeling they are terrified of the press exposure and will find some excuse to indefinitely postpone it or try to persuade people that as the K5 problem is now solved then it's not needed and attending the Vigil is now a waste of time. I've a feeling something is going on behind the scene.

NO Lilli, please do not assume that what you read in Cyprus Today is a solution to the K5 problems, it is TALK of a solution. Ask ABAG about that, they were promised so many things that came to sweet F.A. K5 will believe the govt. when they are sitting in the their homes with their Kocans in their hands. But then there will be the other 1400 victims to sort out and lets not forget Pauline of K5,how will they deal with her, she has been evicteded by proxy with extreme prejudice already and has no real confidence that she will receive money from the court award. No the publicity continues, and with permission, so will the Vigil. She made it clear, this is for any and every victim of the Property scam. Good luck today TRNC victim - sock it to 'em babe. Roger will be outstanding, pr dpo I mean stand out!! Yeh dongles work, that is how communicate with you. LET'S HEAR IT FOR VODAFONE DONGLES.

The television program on UK's ITV called "Homes from Hell" is planning a program dedicated in part to North Cyprus and the property buying situation. In specific they are looking for people in N Cyprus who have been a victim of the property situation in NC and have lost either their property or a lot of money, either through fraud, esdeger, legal disputes or generaly bad handling of the transaction process. I assum you will need to provide proof. They have been on contact with me with regards to my experiences in NC and have asked for an interview. If anyone has anything to talk about that they think the program would be interested to hear, now is your chance. If its of interest I would be happy to foward the details directly to the program producers. Please do this ASAP by email to me as I intend to converse with ITV very shortly. Thursday AM 7th October at latest. Its up to YOU. Nows your chance! JS

When I see cases being settled and Kocans being issued I will start to believe all the talk, until then we have to keep up the pressure, we've had too many empty promises before. Vigil will go ahead if permission granted.

Well, yes Pauline is getting the runaround and she has been cashing all day. If they think she will go away, then they haven't been reading their own newspapers. She has been promised a call tomorrow, if she doesnt get it, she will be making some calls of her own. She was contacted by a Reuters reporter today, he was really interested in the Vigil.

Pollymarples, Don't worry if they don't allow your vigil, it only shows that the TRNC Government are afraid their corruption will become knowledge to the rest of the world! How sad are they, It's already public knowledge! They need to move on, and understand that there are no more closed doors! IF YOU ARE HONEST, AND NOT A CRIMINAL, LIGHT A CANDLE FOR THE TRNC GOVERNMENT! They need every Candle we can light!

Not surprising pollymarples re the "runaround" let's hope they see sense? Hope Geoff's court hearing went well, and Mr Denktas helped his case? Why on earth would someone want Pauline kicked off NCFP? (obviously someone who doesn't like free speech or honesty)!

Pauline now knows she has not been given permission for the PEACEFUL SILENT CANDLELIT VIGIL apparently it is AGAINST THE LAW. Surely, they knew that when they helped her word her letter, courteously received her and the letter at the District Office and told her she would have her decision by Wednesday. Today is Friday - she still has not been told officially despite trying to contact someone, anyone, all day Wednesday and Thursday, so how does she know? Facebook!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gives a whole new meaning to 'THE RUNAROUND'. No wonder she says she believes nothing she is told and will only judge the 'promises' by actions not words. Such duplicity does this administration no credit.

So, this seems [at present] to boil down to: Turkish Cypriots have the right to vociferously demonstrate in public - even peacefully, foreigners do not! Yet another 'Human Rights' violation to be chalked up? That sort of publicity won't gain TRNC the 'sympathy vote' internationally!

Pauline is more p***ed off about the fact that are taking her for a fool rather than the NO. More ways than one to skin a cat - watch this space.

How appalling and how sad, for the entire community in the TRNC. People the world over have fought for Freedom, repression can never be allowed, so many people on this board call the UK, but I'm am so proud that with all it's faults, we are allowed to stand up and peacefully demonstrate against corruption, the London Turkish Ambassador was correct when his message to us said and I quote "This is about Human Rights" what Human Rights in the TRNC when your not allowed to hold a candle, and be silent!

Echo your thoughts TRNC victim. Look at the rally in Trafalgar Square for injustices done to Turkish Cyps. not all there held British passports, they did not need permission. Very hypocritical of the TRNC to take this stance. Cake and eat it mentality.

Quarmby (mess 243) The TRNC administration are afraid of honesty, they really don't like anyone who opposes (I am sorry to have to say this ) "The Regime" sadly they seem to like criminals in their Country, and try to stop anyone who has any decency from silently lighting a candle!

Natalie, the Committee, in my opinion is as a direct result of all the publicity generated by the protest in UK and the threat (which could still become a reality) of one here. The Committee : ANKARA TURKISH AMBASSADAOR IN LONDON TURKISH AMBASSADOR IN LEFKOSA LORD MAGINNIS

Also in my opinion, the above Committe will be far more independent and fair in their handling of property related issues. There are many lobbying for our rights in London, who prefer to remain anonymous but we do send a big thank you to them and are collating case notes as I write. Every new case they receive shocks them to the core. Let us hope the 5 wisemen commitee set up here can help us. You can never have too much help

Seems like AKFINANS did not have a change of heart, just cocked up the wording on the first writs and are in the process of drafting new writs ready for serving in the near future. It really seems from their attitude in Cyprus Today that Talat and Akan Kursat are really enjoying what they are doing. Any decent human would be appalled at the idea of making pensioners homeless, not these people, they dont care who they hurt, witness the car driven at Chris. I cannot get my head round one human being doing that to another.

pollymarples (mess 249) It seems like "Big Daddy" has had to come out of the woodwork to put "Little Boy's wrongs right" Is this the "Cage Fighters at Cratos" Thread? These two will do anything to anyone, Old, Young, Sick, Dead! really doesn't matter! Tenakoutou (mess 250) Don't you worry about the South, the North has enough to worry about!

TRNC Victim, I couldn't agree more. Look at so many property problms and see whose names keep recurring again and again. Just look at the shareholders in AGA DEV. Ltd. If they get into bed with known felons, what can you expect. IF YOU LIE DOWN WITH DOGS, YOU GET UP WITH FLEAS. There isn't enough D.D.T. on the island to deal with this lot.
