Will be our first time to North Cyprus - can anybody tell me when the flight schedules come out for flying to Ercan - via Turkey next summer 2009

hi rosie1 been looking myself for flights toercan from manchester,only one i have come up with is turkish airlines via istanbul (change plane in1hour)then toercan £686for 2people.

Cyprus Turkish Airlines are not releasing their summer schedule until sometime in September seemingly.

just had a thought for the Scottish contingency this could be useful for those in the Dundee area - who could fly to Birmingham with Loganair.

by the way you dont change planes..you stay on the one you are on and wait for about an hour. Sometimes can only be half an hour. So the flight is not that bad.

pussycatuk, with Turkish airlines via Istanbul you do have to leave the plane & then get back on, the plane you get back onto may not be the one you started your journey on either.

I have flown with Turkish Airlines twice and never got off plane, only time I have got off and that was with CTA.

its sometimes cheaper to fly to Larnaca and come across to North Cyprus we do that all the time

I have flown twice from Stanstead to Ercan via Istanbul with Turkish airlines. Both times I got off the plane to change to another plane. Makes some sense, they are not going to tie up their big airbus planes for a short hop from Istanbul to Ercan. (unless excessive demand)

Personally, I very much appreciated getting off the plane and stretching my legs. It made the hour go more quickly.

We travel regularly from Manchester to Ercan via Istanbul.



We use ebookers. I have never paid more than £500 for two of us to fly. You do get off the plane at Istanbul and board a different intenal flight. we have once missed our connection - through no fault of our own, and the Istanbul staff were fabulous and booked us on the next flight (an hour later) to Ercan.

I would'nt be booking flights for next summer yet. I think we'll be getting direct flights by then.

You don't get off the plane if you fly CTA (KTHY).... Turkish Airlines you do as it is scheduled flight to Istanbul only... Then another flight to Ercan...

Tinker - your last post is correct for the Heathrow and Mancchester Turkish flights but CTA, Pegasus and Turkish flying from Stansted normally do not involve a plane change.



No1 Doyen - I wish I had your Crystal Ball, even if everything was sorted out this September it will take a long while for the practices to be changed if only due to costs and penalties.

I`ve Heard since 2004 direct flights "will be happening soon" if I had an Effes every time I heard direct flights soon, I would be a very " HAPPY " man.

Booked today for regular clients STN > ECN > STN (no border crossing)



2 people 29 October return 5 November £320.00



2 Adult 2 child 26 December 2 January £810.00



You can support the TRNC, reduce the incovenience of the border crossing and still get good deals.



Any good agent should be able to help you with flights into the North easily till the end of March and with a little effort into summer 2009 not just us.
