I believe there is a development close to Camelot beach where all the purchasers were originally refused PTP on the grounds that it was close to a military firing range. This was appealed by the HBPG or the Property Complaints Commission and now some of the PTP have now been granted. I'm not 100% sure of the details but maybe some of the other forum members could confirm this or give more details.

Anastacia.....Ballyboffins question is very pertinent. Is your property on esdeger/exchange title or Pre-74 Turkish Title ? Our own experience after being refused PTP on Pre-74 lends us to believe that even if you can find an advocate who agrees that you have been unjustly refused,it is simply not worth the time or effort. As a TC advocate advised us,you've got to remember that you are buying in what is effectively a military dictatorship, rather than a westernised democracy. Refusal on "military" grounds....the usual spurious excuse....should not be questioned. If it is questioned.....and even if a court agrees with you....they have no power to overturn a military decision. To be honest , in the case of Pre-74 it's all part of the covert policy to deny foreigners PTP . You can of course re-apply for PTP in another family members name.....and spend another 3+ years at the mercy of memoranda and charges against "your" property. Sorry.

Sorry, no it is Esdeger land. Negative Military Report was the reason even though British neighbour who applied at the same time were granted PTP.

The whole " refusal by the Miltary" is just a red herring. The whole Permission To Purchase set up is a discriminatory device that allows the TRNC to take our money and then refuse us ownership. If they really thought us foreigners were a threat to national security then why would they allow us to RENT property in proximity to miltary installations? Why would they even allow us in their country? Cash cow springs to mind.

cyprusairsoft, How would the Government make any money out of an extra PTP application? It is a FREE SERVICE provided by the TRNC government - there is no fee to pay...

Cronos, I have had some thoughts on this refused ptp, is there anything in common these people have other than being refused.?? What about previous occupations? or what reason they gave for coming here to live? My friend was refused on exchange land, but neighbour was given theirs. There has to be more to it , are we looking at a bigger picture?

Hi blade I have been wondering the same, as neighbours who were granted PTP actually live and one of them works there. It is just a holiday home for us.

Blade msg 9 If you can think of what that "bigger picture" might be then you are a better man than I. The generally accepted reasons for refusal are...criminal record....proximity to military installations....and if you already own a property ( only one allowed). It always makes me smile when they insist on a police check , when you think of some of the "characters" they have let in and welcomed with open arms !
