chlorine is okay and ph level is fine. Water is clear, but the green algae loo is attached to the walls. We have tried scrubbing with a brush, but it appears to be attached to scale or some sort. Now how do we get rid....??? Answers on a postcard please or phone a friend..

sound like the Pool needs a "shock" either chuck a load of concentrated chlorine in and put pump on for 24 hours or put about 3 to 4 kilo of Potassium monosulphate in (expensive but good) and leave pump on ! backwash regularly and if do any of above dont swim in until clear !! regards Barry or get Dave Zerochlor in to av a look as we did !!!!

Put some algicide liquid in and leave the pool on for a few hours. Maybe going green because the pump is not on long enough. It will be ok soon when the temp drops.

As well as the above, you may also want to bring your PH balance down temporarily to about 6.8 to help soften it & any limescale its clinging to. Keep scrubbing at it, though dont expect any quick cure.

gooligan, I was advised of this method of lowering PH and controlling algae about 15 years ago, when I had a fish pond - and it does work. However the thought of treating a pool by dumping a bale of Barley in the deep end makes me shudder! - think of all the bits that you'd have floating about Thanks, but No thanks, - I'll give this one a miss...

message 10 cyprusairsoft. WRONG All the pools i look after are perfect.no need for extra chemicals, who looks after your pool? its people who do not know what they are doing who get green pools.THATS A FACT. We have not used any extra chemicals this year on any pools. People try to skrimp and scrape on chemicals and then try to blame the product, whether it be chlorine or zerochlor or other. To many ex pats come here and have a pool in there garden and in 2 months they are swimming pool experts, whereas most know nothing about there pool. If the correct amounts of chemicals and all levels kept correct,no pool will go green, that is why no pool that is under maintainance by zerochlor ever goes green, because we DO know what were doing! Cheers kevin & Dee
