Can anyone answer this query for us. We purchased our property about 18 months ago. Since then we have decided would like to sell up and move away from the TRNC. We have not yet received our permission to purchase and dont expect to get this for at least another 2 years. Other home owners on the site have however, received their permissions without any difficulties. Are you able to sell before you receive your Kocan or only after you have this document?

I bought mine (2nd hand) with a "transfer of contract". Effectivley, the builder, seller and myself all signed so that the building guarantees were transferred to my name.

In the present property climate you will battle to sell anything! We have our kocan and the property has been on the market for almost a year and still we wait.

A lot of the bigger estate agents won't sell your property at the moment if you don't have your kocan. Chris

A lot of purchasers will not buy your property unless you legally own it but might offer you a silly price to reflect the risk involved. You not receiving your PTP when others on the site have, gives a bad impression as well. If the others on the site have started receiving kocans then you would be in a better position.
