This might be helpful to any member that currently has their property insured by intasure, I have had my apartment insured with Inasure for almost a year now, its was due for renewal on the 11/10/10, but on Saturday I received a letter from them informing me (that due to our underwriters decision we are unable to offer renewal terms on your existing insurance policy)

I rang their office in London yesterday to try and find out the reasons behind this, only to be informed that they will no longer underwrite property in north cyprus, and will not renew any that come up for renewal.

I hope this might be a help to some one

Doesn't surprise me and have heard this elsewhere - the property laws are too complex for them I rang them sometime ago and had a long conversation with them!



they coudln't get their head around complexes and some taking isnurance and some not and not having block policies the risk, if the decision has been taken by the underwriters is far too great ! another fine mess in the TRNC .......complex insurance !

Go to one of the local ones... Iktisat Bank do cover via Umbrella Insurance, and I know Anadolu Insurance is also well thought of.

My renewal is with Intasure, it runs out end of October, its for a Villa so dont know if that will be different to an apartment. Could do without flying back to sort out insurane but cant risk things without cover.

We have property insurance through Anadolu and use Dilek their Agent at North Shore, just a little further along from HSBC in Girne. She is very helpful and has excellent English. The Policy is also in English if requested.
