Does anyone know where to find the muhtars office in Lapta? I believe it is necessary to get a form from him before selling a car, is this correct?

The Muhtars are split into districts now, so it depends where abouts you live in Lapta. There is one on the main road in the village, next to the old restored coffee shop and the butchers. Its a yellowy colour bungalow with a small conservatory on the front go in there and he will tell you which one you need (if its not him obviously!)

The nearest one to you I think could be the one we use. If coming from JKs you take the first turning to Lapta travel along that road until you pass first garage, turn up there to T junction and the guy you want is behind a whole lot of wrought iron lying by the road on the right. (Maybe the wrought iron has been moved but doubt it but anyone there will tell you).

No, not that turning the turning nearest JKs, ie you will have to backtrack if you come out of JKs road, only a few hundred yards turn left there and follow the rest - it is really easy, just sounds complicated!

rosieposie, If you live along JK's road as I do there are signs on the lamposts telling you who the muhtar is. It it is Ali Toser you take the turn of that leads to Château lambousa go up to the T junction turn right, then first left and then right again his house is down a wee lane with 2 or 3 other houses and he is the one on the left that looks like a cafe. If you still can't find it give me a call and I will show you how to get there. Chris

Re ; msg 10 - "What is a Noter?" A noter is a notary, where one gets documents notarised. From Wikipedia - "A notary is a lawyer or person with legal training who is licensed by the state to perform acts in legal affairs, in particular witnessing signatures on documents." I recently used a notary so that I could use a photocopy of my passport instead of the passport itself. He verified that the photocopy was indeed a true copy of the real thing. However, according to my TC future-father-in-law, for selling the car you will need to get the document from your muhtar, not the noter :-(
