We have just had digital electric meters fitted on our complex. Can anyone tell me the benefits of these digital electric meters ? and does it cut down the work load of the men that would normally read the old type meter ? just curious !!

I don't know if it is going to cut down on the workload, but all the meters where read yesterday,

and apart from the odd few all the totals where the same ie 112 tl.Most unusual.

This was in Girne, has anyone else had the same situation on their site ?.

Unless the are linked wireless to there Internet they will have to read them the same as all the others.so same work load.if they are linked they can read them from there office they probably got a job lot cheap from the EU.

Does it really mater what type of electric metre has been put in just grateful they have metres. The reason why they are digital is so that they also cannot be tampered with.!!!!!

We were told that they won't have to come round & read them anymore. We had new ones fitted last week.

The amount we have been using the air con it should have been a lot more,so wont be surprised if a much

bigger bill turns up next month, unless they are taking an average of the last year, and it will be the same each time. Then try and persuade us to go onto direct debit.

We have had electronic meters at Karmi (St Hilairion Court) for about 10 months, after a few early problems everything has settled down. The meter gets read just like the old ones and a bill left in the meter box. They were supposed to remotely read these meters, but have not achieve it yet!
