It depends on age and some people will want specific test and not others so not as simple as you would think!

However for the full range of tests for men under 50 it is 537tl

For men over 50 it is 625tl.

Chris

p.s. Yes that is with the discount.

As in an earlier post you indicated there were now 10,000 members if half were men would it not be easier to reach more by publishing a concise list of tests and charges, wouldnt think there can be that many. On a different note can I ask if it a voluntary/charitable set up you run or a business?

bertie / Margaret,

The reason I don't put a concise list on here is that everyone's needs are different and some like to ask confidential questions therefore requiring more tests.

TRNC Healthcare is a volunteer organisation comprising of UK registered nurses and occasionally we have to call on experienced carers to look after people (this is a private arrangement between carer and client)

For myself I can tell you that in the last 2 weeks I used 200 tl worth of petrol and with donations was still at least 100tl out of pocket!

if you require any other info please get in touch by phoning me on 0533 884 5621 or e-mail on trnchealthcare@gmail.com

Men over 60 do not need to be checked for sexual thingies as the TRNC gov says they're no longer active!

I think there is a danger here for you Nurseawful that you are going to fall into the same trap that Johny Lee did' originally', whereby folks are donating to a 'worthy cause', but the monies collected cannot be properly accounted for.

Using donations to fill your car with petrol surely could be construed as 'misappropriation' if anyone wanted to look at the books. I presume you do keep books?

.

Also aren't you in danger of of a doubly whammy by saying to Zerochlor that you can give him 4 swimming pools which suggests you look after properties which I assume you must get some remittance for, (well i wouldn't do it for nothing) but do not as such have a work permit. I am sure there are many other people who do the same but aren't quite so silly as to announce that on the most popular forum in Cyprus.

Message 19

Not that I need to explain myself to you but just for the record the donations were given to me by friends and family specifically to use for petrol as they know for the last month I have been travelling to Bellapais every day to see an old lady. Maybe with your big heart you want to get up and be at Bellapias every morning at around 8am for a couple of hours! And after that I can get calls to anywhere between here and Catalkoy if someone is ill.

And as for looking after properties you must be having a laugh when the hell would I find time to do this, the pools in question are mine and neighbours as we are dissatisfied with our present pool cleaners.

The only danger here Krypton is from people like yourself with suspicious minds. So if you have that much time on your hands why not take over from me and go and see these people who need real help! No I thought not.

Chris I was not trying to pick holes merely curious in light of the information you have given can I ask another question you say nurses but dont you mean ex nurses and I am sorry if I am being pedantic but how many are actually still registered and if so how are they managing to maintain the requirement for registration. Before you introduce these people to clients what checks are carried out, and are they acting as nurses or carers.

I am sorry if this upsets you its not meant to but in the UK I think its fair to say everyone has become much more aware of the different forms abuse may take and the need for checks to be carried out to protect people who may be very vulnerable.

I also still think it should be reasonably easy to say e.g. ECG 50lr full blood 35lr purely as an example I have no knowledge of the costs of these things which is where my interest in this started

Chris, do you feel like your banging your head against a brick wall? It seems to me that whenever you tell people about a service being offered someone comes back with either a not so smart answer(message 9) or they just pick holes in it. Good luck with this, I hope it goes well and gives everyone a clean bill of health, but if, following an examination, it picks up something that may be a problem then I'm sure that person or persons will be very relieved they went.

message 22,

I myself am still a registered nurse with the NMC, I fulfill all requirements every year to re-register. Many nurses do their study updates via the internet and get accredited for doing so and this is supported by the NMC.

Of the other 3 nurses 1 is also still registerd the other 2 have recently retired.

As to the carers we train then to UK standards and take up references for them.

As to the costs you can e-mail me and I will give them.

i hope finally this has answered all your queries!

Regards

Chris

p.s. If you have time on your hands we are always looking for volunteer carers and drivers.

Hi Chris I know how it feels to do a little bit of good only to get slagged off by the ones who do absolutely nothing for the last 2 years I have supplied free of charge a scooter to be raffled by the 112 to help their funds and what did I get in return some people wanting to know much I made out of it well the answer was Zilch except for a bit of publicity, so it seems if you do anything from the goodness of your heart you had better be thick skinned .It's the same as Lilli all the stuff she does for nothing but she still gets knocked for no reason other than from jealosy and some people thinking there must be an ulterior motive if you do something for nothing

Sal,

"Is somebody here expecting me to believe that nobody walks away from these little exercise with a wedge in their ar*e pocket!"

It is not uncommon here for that very thing to happen... lots of retired people feel able to give of their time freely and often without thanks. Of course we are not daft and realise the Hospital will be making money out of it but that has nothing to do with Chris I'd warrant. My wife was able to avail herself of the women's sessions and was very glad to get a clean bill of health. It was for very much less money than she would have had to pay in the UK and no wait.

The innuendo that Chris received a kickback from Medikent is below you and you ought not to have gone there...

Chris keep up the good work, we all know how hard you work, we also understand the running costs involved.

Unfortunatley many people due to their own (i,m allright Jack) attitudes. Do not realise that many of us here also dedicate a big part of our lives to helping others.

Good Luck . xx

Okay guys can we get this back on track without interference from certain members.

For all you guys that need your hands held if your wife/ partner missed out on Womens Health Week we can arrange something for them at the same time.

This is important as cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death worldwide so a quick check up could save your life. Already this year we have had 2 young men under the age of 50 dying prematurely from Hear attacks, I certainly don't want to see any more!

Agnes,

I think it is pretty obvious, as I posted the information that it is me. The other nurses have been having a break as they have visitors over from the UK. and they held the phone and kept things running for a couple of months when I was unable to. So they in my opinion are having a well earned break!

As to them not knowing, well they read the newspapers and come on Cyprus 44, so I can only assume your post was with the intention of making mischief for whatever reason!

If you are interested in the Men's Health Week the contact details are telephone 0533 884 5621 or e-mail trnchealthcare@gmail.com

Thanks for your reply but why would I be making mischief with a genuine question and also why would you even think that. I find your answer quite offensive and really uncalled for.
