I hope members don't mind but I have closed the original thread as it was becoming far to unwieldy. It can still be read here

Malsancak has a point. When the poster requests closure or alteration I am sure it is well within the almighty mods scope to make contact with the poster to discuss. However it's not in the case when it's dealt with by Harold.

Harold, you killed this thread off! Attempted murder ignored by the police is too important for arbitrary decisions which make freedom of speech difficult. Very few people complained but for some reason you took it upon yourself to close the thread down and create another thread which had little meaning. No wonder there is no sustained resistance to injustices here.

All I did with the *original [thread] was to hold the 'Page Down' button and get to the last posting(s) quick as...

so why close the *thread?

I have reopened the original thread. I am well aware of using page down but even on my computer which is very high spec and with 15 meg actual doownload speeds it still takes a long time to load. This made posting on the original thread very difficult. There were only a few regulars posting and opening a 700 odd page thread was not going to make life easier for any new posters. I am big enough to admit what others see as an error though so if members still want to post on an original thread they now can

Thanks Harold!

I've only an 'el cheapo' laptop, but I bunged in a few more RAM and now it's working 'like a bought one' again - banging the 'Page Down' gets me to the last posting on the original thread in a zooming coupla three secs.!!!

Slightly off thread: Press 'END' to go to the bottom of the page and 'HOME' to go back to the top.

Vicki

P.S Sorry ronnie I know you posted this as well just wanted readers to know how to get back to the top.
