If board manager Izzet Zorlu (for his reasons - he IS the board owner) does not want to have a closer look at cheating newcomers (double, triple etc identities on C44) and instead let them join his board again and again

- and if the moderators (who'd envy them their unpaid job?) cannot or will not influence the board management

- I advocate a much more stringent moderation of C44:

- PLEASE close more threads when everybody can see that they don't serve any purpose from the start.

This board will be a better one.

50 views of this thread after eight minutes. One reply. What kind of members are you, out there? Contradict my opinion, support it - or don't you have an opinion at all?

RE msg 5, apc2010: Than say/write so. Nothing more dangerous for the viability of any institution than a silent majority.

Well DC,the more members the more the site might be worth,so maybe by december there will be 20,000 members.

Maybe every1 will have 4 or 5 diffrent names.

Then i suppose the fun starts!

If one does not have an opinion, surely better to write nothing as it seems to many responses out of context with the thread results in a slanging match and personal insults......that is of course my own personal opinion.

Possibly they do not want to post as they are wary of misspelling, not using correct grammar, or just being aggressively attacked by others who do not share their views. I have spoken to several people who say, 'Yes, I read it, but I would never post.'

I suppose all right minded people will strongly support a more stringent reaction to those who are abusive but please do not seek it to be so severe that the humour of "banter" and playful "windups" are also punished.

Hans

Totally agree with you 100%

It's about time people read or re-read the rules and like them or not adhere to them.

Agree 100% Dutch Crusader, when will the mods and the owner do something to stop the abuse?

I also agree with Hans. There seem to be too many people on this board that wish to denigrate others, for a reason I cannot think of. When I first started using not this board, but its previous incarnation, when we were coming out here eight years ago, it was nothing but kindness and help.

Some answers to posts now appear to be gratuitously nasty and I don't understand why.

I agree with sour brandy; about the older boards generaly but not always being friendly (there were at some points as many as 5 running at the same time).

I find too many personal comments and thoughts as well as the backstabbing that we all see rtahre destroys Cyprus44 for me.

There are also many people who seem to "think" they know lots but often the advice seems to be ill founded although well meant. Well intended information can be dangerous as can the back street lawyers so it might be good if Admin could mark peoples posts with perceived regard to levels of knowledge

The jokes are fine but they are often "in crowd jokes" and maybe they should be confined to a seperate section to the information requests and answers.

It might involve a change on the forum so that it might split into categories and that might be a lot of work for Izzet

I agree with Hans for a short while that stronger moderation might not go amiss.
