kibtec will cut you of if you dont pay 3 consecutive bills , its not a case of none payment msg4 , if you live in trnc ,you pay your bill every month , if you holiday in trnc you must always keep your account topped up to cover the months youre not their , happened to us we arrived to no electric nightmare , fortunately our developers are still on site , one phone call and it was back on within the hour , we always pay extra now ,

1/our bills are normally paid every month by our agents they informed me they required more funds to meet the elect bill which I complied on the 7/9 which was in their account on the 13th still giving them at least 10 days to pay the bill, however this was not done and on tues midday it was disconnected,my wife rushed to the agent opposite lemar and they informed her there was not enough funds to pay the bill,as soon as I called them from London to say they have funds, they checked immediately and paid the bill around 2pm so they were funds!my wife rushed to girne and 320pm to inform them but they had closed,so one night withoutany electricity, this morning, she rushed to girne and because it was cut off and the builders (greatstone) were out of business, she had to produce her passport and title deeds to transfer the account to our name, next they wanted the receipt reference which was paid on line before they could anything, this was finally passed to them by the agent, they then promised

that they would send someone to re connect around 4pm, and they never came, my fear is they may keep us waiting and may take days to come unless there is a way of approach to ensure they come immediately

so to date the food gone off and living in the dark, not nice for two ladies,i will get the agent(no names) to make an effort and I suppose my wife needs to go back and ask what's going on

i thought of the plug to purchase but that can cause problems if they appeared and the power was on

even to the point of borrowing my neighbours who are away, but there is a seal on theirs and may have blocked mine from doing just that, this I cant see from here in the UK

but from what you have said our bills have not been paid for 2 months!

Techtan is easy when you know otherwise it is quite hard to direct to.

Firstly, if you know where 1001 is . If you came out of 1001 and turned right, went up the road 50mts and took the first right, then after some 100mts turned right Techtan is 10mts down on your right. Techtan is on the same block to 1001 directly behind it - back to back.

You can't go down the hill and turn right as you do to 1001 as Techtan is on a one way street, so up past 1001, right then right then there it is. You can park right outside.

In more general terms go past the Colony, right down the main street, second left and you get to 1001.

Or into town, left at the roundabout past HSBC then right at the fork, about 400mts till you see a large school on your left, turn left before that, Techtan is about 200mts down on the right.

If you have a bank account in TRNC, it may be worth getting a standing order sorted out with Kibtek so that you don't have to worry about your agent paying the bill on time.

if you are not here why was the bills so great as if it is a nominal amount then they dont bother if you are renting out then you must make sure your account is toped up its then your own fault they get wind of it in the end and make you suffer i know this as the places we look after some just want the money and dont want the bills not having a bash at you but i have heard that after 3 / 4 times they are going to ask for the deposits to be placed ?

Kirk the villa has been occupied since may this year , everyone coming and going .the bills were paid by the agent (no name yet)since 08,and the bills upto april was minimum ,think 30 lira,so until further information is received from them as to my funds and payments s.So I now assume this bill 1150 lira is for the last two months i assume ,When I was there last My neighbour had a look at the bill a month ago and told me I was two months late,I reminded the agent before I returned back to the Uk and said the bills in the box and please pay asap. I shall now with HSBC make a direct debits for all future bills as soon as I return back

in the meantime still waiting for electrics they did not show up today,I now have the agent trying to sort the mess, 3 nights in the dark say no more thanks everyone

Pay by direct debit in future and avoid all this hassle.

If you don't have a TRNC TL bank account, then open one.

Even if you pay by direct debit, always check each month to make sure it has been paid. I was surprised to read they were coming so quickly. Someone I know who had theirs cut off were told they would have to wait a week before it was re-connected. Fingers crossed you get yours back on sooner.

Have you checked the obvious?

ELCB or 63A isolator switch next to meter/fuse?

ELCB on your fuse box in the house?

surely the agent looking after your property should have known well in advance that they did not have the funds to pay your bills and told you so in ADVANCE....so that you could make the payments in time, if they were paying your bills each month...

I would defo change the agent and pay the bills myself. hope you get connected soon, does anyone have a jennie to lead poor basheer?

Basheer,

Cutting an isolator out and removing it doesn't sound like KibTek. Usually they remove the fuse and/or disconnect the lead to the fuse holder. Haven't you got a locked steel cabinet in your roadway containing all the electrical connections/breakers for your street? Sometimes KibTek switch off the power in this cabinet, but I haven't heard of them ever cutting a component out.

Hi vaughn they just pulled out the socket which dicconnected the electricity dont know what you call it

its 530 pm friday still no electricity they the agents say its in hand now for this evening ,they are bringing someone they know to connect us who works there

robin hood hear this I sent them £500 on the 7th of sept and usually within 4-5 days the funds enter their account, they sent me the statement which shows they received the funds on the 25th!! and paid the elect board on the 28th after we persisted for infor as to why they said they did not have funds at the time (which was £750) and the bill for two months £505 waiting for explanation to dates

trouble is the disconnection took place on the 28th and reconnection was agreed that same evening ,however no one knows why to date they never came to re connect

to end this conversation have mention that the two men who came to sort our connection were very upset that the socket which was removed was not there, the policy is to break the seal and leave the socket on top

my daughter saw the back of the guy who turned off our power and when she came out to look at the box outside she saw the switch turned off but did not notice the plug anywhere, the two men said someone stole this expensive item and if it was the guy to confirm and they will sort him out.we could not confirm that he took the item all we saw the back of him and he confirmed that he saw the girl come out of the villa and he claims she took it away or some neighbour stole it!!! we can confirm the only human we saw for hours was the electric.before i come to a point, they connected the wire and asked my wife to go back to the office to pay for the fuse block and for them to return to connect properly.she was told that the box should be padlocked with a gap to read the meter only .
