We had same problem last year over furniture but finally got Alsancak Muhtar to cough up the letter by saying we were living at our property, he came to see and remarked that we had not got much furniture, not suprising as it was in Famagusta awaiting delivery. We are now here permanently & loving it.

we had a similar problem. He just has to pester him. There is no requirement to have a residency permit. If all else fails he could try taking a turkish speaking friend along, thats what we did and we got the letter straight away.

oh by the way, tell your hubby to get 2 or 3 copies of the letter off him. Useful for other things.

Ask how much for a letter! used to work a few years ago and sure it will now - although price gone up.
