I need to renew my car tax. Can anyone help me with where i need to go, opening times and what i need to take with me.

I went this morning.

From centre Girne, just before the hospital turn left, follow road past entrance to hospital car park and take next right. Right again and the building is on the right. You're looking for the white building - Gelir ve Vergi Diaresi.

Take all your car papers, insurance, mot, emissions test, last road tax and cheque book.

The rates vary but on a 7yr old Mitsubishi Colt I paid 129tl today.

Office is open til 8.30-12.30 then 15.00 til I think it said 17.00 - remembered thinking they get a good lunch hour!

Go in to the foyer, turn left, through the double doors and queue up at the counter immediately on the left.

Pippie, that is summer hours, to allow for a "siesta" and to be with children, winter hours will start on Monday, surely you understand this.
