Coming over next week to furnish our villa, if anyone has info on reasonable priced furniture shops and where you can purchase a leather suite, would be much appreciated.

Homefront in Alsancak is really nice and the people there are really helpful. They can arrange a full furniture package for you at a pretty decent price.

Casablanca in Catalkoy is good too if you like more contemporary designs. We bought a nice unit from them and as we had guests visiting we were happy to take the shop model. They noticed a tiny mark on (and I mean tiny, I didn't see it) so they knocked 30% off the price without us asking.

Botanicas at Catalkoy made all of our furniture to order and good prices, most important was we felt we could trust them to get it right and not stich us up.

I just joined this board and believe it or not I noticed this thread afterwards.

Have a look at Smart Plus Furniture at Karaoglanoglou next to Medview or just before Lemar on the same side towards Kyrenia. It is my daughter's place, so what I say is of no value. You have to decide for yourselves.

We got our furniture at Smart+ - we looked at most shops and they are in a different league. Really nice, stylish items and not overpriced. I would thoroughly recommend (and i am not related !!). Great service and great quality furniture.

Hi

Olguns have a good range including leather suites of a very good quality. They picked us up from the hotel , didnt pressure us and offered both budget rental furniture and good quality from around the world.

They have a website.

Hello everyone

I notice that all the shops you talking abaut is in Girne or west or east of it. Why don`t you try to look shops in Lefkosa? Such as Edip near Hamitkoy or Depreli or Kelebek mobilya etc. And I`ll give you good tips too, go to sanayi bolgesi(industrial estate) in Lefkosa just after the Ataturk stadium there is many furniture factorys or warehouses that you can buy good stuff for less money

We bought and ordered all our furniture online with http://www.frankandjoan.com - they were excellent. Joan even sent fabric material to us in the UK for curtains. Unfortunately she couldnt get the table and chairs for the kitchen we wanted so we bought that from Olguns - who again we would recommend. Joan was brilliant though - without her help we would have had to fly over and buy the stuff with two kids in tow!!!! :(

Have just returned to UK after 7 days of shopping for furniture. Must have visited and bartered with every shop on North West coast. Good quality at reasonable price was "Tarim" in Alsancak. Ask for Peggy. Their wrought iron is made by the owner and is the best we could find. I don't know if they do leather furniture. Italiano, nr Girne have leather furniture, but a bit expensive. Aykoc, are the best for stone tables. Botanica, are good but dearer than Tarim. Ipec, just west of Girne have a great selection. We used them for curtains and sofa beds.

Sorry also meant to say http://www.frankandjoan.com dont charge for this service - they get commission from the suppliers! Some other companies do charge.

We have been using Pam Hooley at Sudbury Property Services, she cannot do enough to help, she has sent samples of fabrics back to the UK and offers prices to suit all pockets. Really excellent quality and service and I agree with Georgie Girl will not rip you off.

I was recently over in TRNC and like a previous poster, spent a full week touring the furniture shops and settled on Tarim at Alsancak. I have bought virtually all of my furniture from Peggy and Sahin at Tarim. Really good quality, competetively priced and they are both very helpful and keep in regular email contact, so I know what's happening.

They're also going to clean the house (family member) and measure up for curtains and other sundry items.

I would recommend them to anyone.

For modern, contemporary furniture packages try:
