Hi....we have it. Although it is the only package we have had so cannot compare we are pleased with it.

We also live in Karsiyaka and you are more than welcome to pop round and see what we have for yourself if that would be any help.

We had it installed a couple of weeks ago and are also very pleased with it. We had Digiturk for a year so can compare the two systems. Dopi TV wins!

Hi FS,

If you look through the site, there's an address & phone No,

You could them a call in the morning for technical info,

doesn't seem to be on web site.

As a matter of interest,

why do you want to know where the dopi reciever is made?

Pikey, we are having a whip round to buy you a Dopi system with 2000 channels, in the hope you'll have less time to wind people up on here so much.

I had Showtime Arabia when I lived in the South, didn't know it was a bit dodgy until

I phoned Dubai to upgrade. I quoted my card number and was told "You are Mr Benghazi, you live in Bagdad" The penny dropped.

Dopi TV now has 3 x sattelite dishes.

When I came to live in the South (now live in TRNC) brought a Sky Box and a free-to-air card. This was nearly four years ago and co-incided with a a reduction

in power by Sky to reduce the footprint of the Astra Satellite (This is because when such as Sky get rights to broadcast a movie - the movie is restricted to a geographic area, Sky had pressure put on them and had to reduce the power, hence you then needed a bigger dish).

Currently you need a 4.2M dish to get Sky (or at least the terrestial channels over it). Unfortunately, I can't afford a house with a big enough roof to

That includes the first years subscription (£150) so that makes the installation £400. If the subscription stays at £150 a year then at £12.50 a month I think that is good value for money.

We run out of Digiturk at the end of December having paid for a year up front and cannot decide whether to go for Digitial Supreme or Dopi? Has anyone had both? If so, perhaps you can help us to make our minds up?

Thanks

When we came here, just over two years ago, there was'nt any choice really but Digiturk. Fortunately now there is. We opted to have Dopi installed, best choice we made. Terrific sport channels, loads of them to choose from. Lots of films. Had Dopi 5 months and not bought a dvd since. 8 different news channels, including Sky news. All the usual british soaps, range of different series to watch. The choice is endless of channels to watch. Cannot fault it. Before we had Dopi our tv picture was very poor, now very clear. Staff very welcoming, and aftersales, faultless.

The server for this system is in Italy..............three dishes......one box ,no card.

Dunno about 2000 channels (who the **** would want that many?) lol

no complaints really but it can be a bit annoying when the system freezes up and doesn't come back but there ya go , at £150 a year thats a tad cheaper than showtime innit?

As for the legalities............apart from dodgyturk...........does antone actually believe any of the other systems available here are legal? yeah and santa is real , speaking of which.............Happy Xmas to all .

p.s dopi also has 37 porn channels but no-one watches them do they ( lol)

I have read alot about this Dopi TV, but I cannot find any information as to how you go about getting the system/service. Can anyone please tell me if there is a shop I need to go to, or someone to contact.

Thanks.

DOPI tv is a franchise of Uran Electronics in Lefkosa. If you buy direct from Uran (as we did) it is cheaper, 1100TL (approx £450) installation and 1st year, US$200 (approx £125) for subsequent years - at least it was 4 months ago.

That's for Hotbird & Nilesat. An extra dish for Turksat was 100TL.

Uran's number is 0392 227 2763 - ask for Halil. The rest have limited English and may get Halil to call you back.

Hi Jovial John

I have called to halil from uran sat and I talke to him about price and dopi tv. He said that which they are brother company with Dopi and Dopi is responsible to sell the product to English community in North Cyprus. If anybady need to install the system, needs to call Dopi Tv and the prices is 585 Stg. Installation and year subscription and the following years are 175 Stg per year. But Dopi Has second hand boxes which the prices almost same price you gave us. Less channels and Not full one year guaranty.

We have had dopi tv for over a year now. I have had to call them out on 3 occasions as we couldn't get a lot of the channels. The last time they came out, they said I had to pay £75. I complained and said it was not my fault I couldn't get the channels. They said next time I would have to pay and it was because my 3 dishes must be moving in the wind. They fitted the dishes, surely if they were secure, they wouldn't move!!!

Haven't been able to get BBC Prime for about 2 months now and only a selection of the English channels they advertise. Not calling them out at £75 a time.

BBC Prime has moved to Showtime on Nilesat - its between Chatco and E! Entertainment which on mine is 1388 but it is different on all of them depending on when each box was installed. It is probably currently called something else.

The other problem is that (particularly on Hotbird) the satellite owners are forever moving the channels around and occasionally you need to refresh the DOPI box. So the 'missing' channels may be there but under a different name. If you look at the following sites you can se were the channels are positioned relative to each other and you can see which channels you should have.

Hotbird http://en.kingofsat.net/freqs.php?pos=13.0E

Nilesat http://en.kingofsat.net/pos-7.0W.php

Turksat http://en.kingofsat.net/freqs.php?pos=42.0E

I hope this helps - if not then email me at JohnBA@Hotmail.com with a phone no and I will talk you through it.
