| There are certainly many problems here, but these 'protests' will only do harm. I read that the Sun and the News of the World are covering the London event! Brillaint that will really help the TRNC economy.! Both protests will be covered by the contempatble Cyprus Weekly and Cyprus Mail in the South putting smiles on the Greek Faces and causing dismay with the UN. Apart from these points no possible advances will be made as a result of these actions. I agree that the Aga situation is disaster and made worse by the inaction of the TRNC government BUT..........................some members of this government are not keen supporters of the British having waited for help in the late 60's and 1970's so no minds will be changed there. and yes; I have and still have my share of grief buying a home here. |

| Yeniboy, so what are you proposing? What choice do these people have? Shouldn't the TRNC government ask to meet them to listen to their concerns? |

| YFred Last year I met with the Prime Minister, the Interior Minister and many other officials; yes they listened to my concerns as they listened to our concerns the year before and the year before that and it goes on. What we want now is ACTION, we want our title deeds and we want our properties. The Prime Minister said back in April; if Gary Robb would sign over the land at Amaranta he would ensure we all got our deeds. I met with Gary Robb in March and he agreed to sign over the land in order for people with contracts to get title deeds. To date we are still waiting for the TRNC Government to take Gary up on his offer. WHY are we waiting? Do they really want to solve this problem? I will be in the TRNC later this month and will again be meeting with officials: not that I am expecting too much to come from these meetings, but the problems have to be constantly reminded to these people and let it known we are not going away. | yeniboy, Unfortunatly the protest and silent vigil are meant to do harm to the TRNC economy! that's the reason we are holding them! We have tried to talk to the TRNC Government for 7 years, they have made promises they don't keep and then they disappear! I'm sure some members of the Government do not support the British, certainly they don't after the British or indeed any other nationality has paid their life savings into their economy, but in 2003/2004 and even today advertise with their lovely glossy brochure, how much they would like us to invest in their lovely country! You have had grief buying your home! well most of us at the Protests, have lost everything they have worked for all their lives, and some the people they loved through the stress of the corruption! the sheer greed I have seen is truly sickening! I loved the TRNC thats why I wanted a home there, but it took my life savings, and contributed to my husbands death, It's economy now means little to me! |

| Yeniboy must be having a laugh! The thousands screwed by the inhabitants of the TRNC care little for the economy of a minor banana republic that took their cash. If the TRNC shows it cares, then so shall we! |
