I have had a trip on this fine boat every summer (and taken friends and family).

I echo what others have said - great day out, comfortable boat (plenty of room even when busy), nice clean toilets (important), charge v.reasonable prices for drinks onboard (no rip off prices) and the food is fab. All in all a great day out and worth every penny .. or lira!

Go once and you will go again (promise)

We went on a sunset cruise and were disappointed - hey - it might have been a bad day!! I try not to recommend anything in glowing terms - things change so fast here!!

It all depends on the weather, i have know them go out as late November, we are normally in cyprus the last week of october and the first week of Nov, and have always known them go out.

If you are also interested, the owner also has a jetski, which he rent out and it will come to the boat at sea, just as for Gengis, and say Lee from England sayed so, Gengis is a good friend and i know he will look after you.

Thanks Chessy, i know about the jet ski and all, been out on the Queen before and also some of the other boats in the Harbour, just never been this late in the year before and was just wondering if they had a set date they stopped running. Thanks for the info anyway and hopefully the weather will be kind

Markyboy - I emailed them yesterday, and they said the likelyhood is that they will be stopping soon due to demand I guess.

They said last year they ran to the end of Oct, but unlikely this year. Best bet is to check out the website, and drop them an email.

Also, does anyone know what the drink/snack prices are like?

Many thanks

ACE!

Cheers Ace, if I remember correctly it was about 5ytl for Efes but don't hold me too it.

We brought our own snacks on but there was plenty of food served at meal times.

If there are no more planned trips, I may charter a private hire from one of the smaller boats :-(

Best to email Markyboy.

But here is what they said to me

"Last year we managed to stay open till the end of October. We will try for the same this year but soon there will hardly any demand and the weather will start changing too. Wish we could operate all year round, that would be great but unfortunately not a reality. We start our season again from mid - late March.

We are running the day trips approx every second day now, according to demand. For example, this week we have trips on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday."

The Big Man

We are planning to sail on Thursday weather permitting.

To see my customers comments please copy and paste the following into the search box...

Bayram,

I have to say that you do the best boat tours and you are unbeatable in value.

Your food is well cooked and there, unlike others, is lots to go round and you are the only one who offers melon on the way back.

Keep it up and you deserve a lot of business.

We did it this September for the first time. Had a great day.

It stopped at several beaches, one offering water sports. There was no rush as they waited till everybody was ready to move on. In fact so much so that we got back over 1 hr late, but that was great and nobody moaned about getting extras.

Drinks were very reasonably priced. Cheaper than many bars. Food was lovely and they made sure that everybody had enough.

Food - excellent. Drink - not as expensive as some we have been on (and no longer use) went on Friday - Efes 5tl. You certainly do not need any snacks as food is plentiful. And msg 22 we always have had melon, both kinds, on African Queen both day and evening trips when we have been with them. Cengiz and Sidi are terrific hosts and the staff they employ are very kind and helpful. Have a great trip.

Really great trip on the African Queen today!

Burnt to a crisp and full of the sea air, will sleep for a week!

Plenty of food about, and cheap booze!

Great day!

We went on the African Queen this time last week and had a great day - we met lots of lovely new people, had a great day and the food was fab! Drinks were reasonable and I got to top up my tan nicely. I would definitely recommend to anyone
