Drive West and keep going through Lapta, Karsiyaka just keep driving past the nightclubs at Guzelyali then past the reservoir in Gecitkoy and up the hill and you will see a sign to the right for Camlibel.

Are you going to the Blue House? go through Camlibel carry on on the Guzelyert road through a military zone and you will see a turning on the right with a brown sign saying Mavi Kosk carry on along the road until you get to the barrier with soldiers. The House is closed on Monday though.

If you're going to Camlibel, take a few minutes to have a look at the monastery. It's been derelict since the early 50s, but renovation has been started.

Dear Brits. What a sad bunch of ignorant people some of you are. This question "Camlibel" (why are some of you not interested in the right spelling of the name of this large village?!) has been answered now 26 times in the past years (by me). 26 (TWENTY SIX) times. Look here and finally appreciate where you are living or holidaying: http://www.allcrusades.com/BB_pics/Cyp_west_Mavi_Koshk.jpg

Why do people on this board keep asking the same question, when they can use the serach engine on top of this board?!

Typo: serach engine = search engine. Sorry.

Dear Hans Brinker (Msg 12)

Not all foreigners are 'Brits' and even those that are, do have a modicum of intelligence in varying degrees however, a faux pas in spelling does not justify your, once again, xenophobic insipid tyrant of feelings towards the Nation that saved yours 65 years ago. Well, that view point would depend on which side of the collaborating fence you took!

Msg1

When you get to Camlibel, after the 'Blue House' tour ask to be directed to the local cheese making factory in the village. I found it interesting watching the girls working the curds and whey and it's possible to purchase on site the fresh warm cheese.

Yes, get yourself to the 'main' square in the village and ask at the only cafe/bar, it's a short windy trek of a 'road' away. If the owner is there and in a good mood, she'll give you a free tasting. About 2/3rds of the cost than the supermarkets and dead fresh!
