Message 7 Really ignorant! For your information both Christians and Moslems worship one God

the creator, whatever name you like to call him, and as an Agnostic I think you should really find out

a bit more about the world religions.

Earthquakes strike all, whatever religion or lack of, and I know how terrifying they can be. Will contact

my friends in Istanbul - will be there later this month.

I used to be agnostic too, till I met a few people who found inner peace in their religion. What ever works for them. APC knows my views on religion, don't take any notice on what she says. She is qualified in biology from the Greek Orthodox church, hates Darwinism and thinks creationism is a scientific subject. Now there is a lot issues there but I charge good money for solving them and I am not about to give it to her for free.

APC contact me if you want help. Wanting help is the first step of the solution to all your problems.

Nudge nudge wink wink say no more. Know what I mean?

Isn't this a prime example of how a potentially important post can be diverted into a backwater of religious drivel?

4.4 on the richter scale is not too high. A lot of the old homes in Istanbul are of wood build, which flex and the newer concrete larger constructions are, or should be, up to earthquake spec. It is still a wonder to engineers how the very old Mosques of the City have withstood much higher quakes over the centuries.

16/16 Pure factual thankyou.

Worked in Turkey and family and friends reside.

Religion. My preference since working in Egypt (amongst many other countries).

Mathematics and Superstition and not Religion interest me more.

That the interests of Egypt were built prior to BC by mathmeticians.

And Superstition consumes our wishes of hope, without the need to pick up a book or be told.

We experienced one on that scale when working in Istanbul, and it was just like a heavy

lorry shaking the building - no damage, no hurt, but it is scary.

It was quite the jolt last night, not so much the feeling of a lorry shaking the building as a lorry crashing in to the building.. A gentle rocking, a very sharp jolt and a little more gentle rocking.. Felt worse than a 4.4 but then I've always been closer to the ground during previous earthquakes, 8th floor it seems is completely different..

Bernies - No one may have been hurt and no damage, but it was scary enough for people to gather outside - so why not post on a forum? I was talking to my parents at the time and even the phones went down.. At the time no one knew the severity, so what's the problem with it being posted?? I seem to remember it being all over the papers because there had been a 3 point something in UK a while back, why is that news-worthy and this isn't?
