There is a new Indian restaurant open next to the DVD shop Alsancak, food and prices very good, they are open 17.00 to late for Indian food but they are also open during the day doing English food and you receive a free beer or a sort drink while your waiting.

About time we had a couple of choices our way, just hope at least one of them offers good food.

Other one is called, I think, Lion of Bengal.

Will try them once they have been operating a couple of weeks.

Didn't the Taj Mahal close and become an Italian Pasta Restaurant recently? Could these be the same owners as the last Taj Mahal. If so they do fat free cooking, relying on the herbs and spices to their job correctly.

The Taj Mahal .... what an interesting name for an Indian restaurant! I wonder how long it took the owners to dream up of such originaltity!

Picked up a price list from the 'Light of Bengal', seemed very expensive. Be nice to know if any of the richer among us have tried it. Hope they're not 'Bengal Lancers'.
