Hi, can anyone confirm that the VAT and Land Regisrty fees are not payable untill PTP is granted and that the purchaser pays both? Thanks

Hi laptagal, We bought our bungalow in June 2006 and applied for our ptp immediately, we are still waiting for it to come through. We have paid both the VAT and the stamp duty and land registration fee. I don't think there is any connection to paying these and ptp. The Butlers wife

Thanks rtddci and TBW. Stamp duty already pais but it is not very clear (well, to me anyway) on the hbpg site, at which stage these payments become due. Is it always the case that they are paid at the same time as the final payment?

There are many threads on this subject ... have a look back. I think Ismet is very clever on what is and is not the law. try reading his threads. Hope this helps and good luck!
