Stamps for residency

How stupid is it that you need YTL9.20 stamp for your residency but you can only buy YTL9.75? Why can't they have a special YTL9.20 stamp, surely its not too much to ask?

You do not need to buy just one stamp. You can buy several to make up the total amount due.

You should also be able to buy an official (tax) stamp at the Post Office for residency purposes, but I always just buy postage stamps & no problems in 9 years.

When I was in Nicosia for the second half of my residency (only to find the paperwork wasn't there), I purchased a stamp for 7TL at the shop. Although I haven't used it yet, I can't see them selling something that is wrong.



Where did the 9TL come from?

Do the stamps not expire annually. We bought stamps one year in December, re-newed our residency in the January, only to be told that the stamps were out of date?

just renewed residency and it is 7TL I got 2 years and Liz one year but still only needed 7TL stamp each

I think they mean for the police station . It was not quite correct the info given out by the brs, as you only need 9.20tl at the police station if your little book that you hand in is damaged, and they need to renew it, well this is what the officer told me.

When you get your first residency visa they give you a little book pink or blue which has your photo in it to confirm your address.This needs a 9.20ytl stamp. If you lose it or it is damaged you need another stamp to get another one. Anladum?
