A great favourite of mine also. Because he was usually a funny man lots of people did not appreciate his amazing sense of timing or realise just what a great actor he was.

God love him, I see him at cliffs pavilion in southend about twenty years ago, he was so very talented he can play many many instruments perfectly, lovely man and a true legend. X

Loved him, loved his films . he fought his way off the streets at the age of 15. Joined the army and all his history from there . Lovely man , RIP Norman .

I remember not long ago on the tv,he was filmed in the care home on the isle of man,still very witty,i love his song,dont laugh at me because i am a fool,i think that is the title

I used to love Normans films as a kid.



I remember seeing him in a documentary a few years ago. Even after a horrendous childhood he didn't have a bad word to say about anybody. Kind, considerate and self effacing - a true gentleman.

I met him at leister square in the 70's by the cinema and as he passed me i recoqnised him and yelled Norman and he gave me a comic face I shall never forget he has a lot of fans up there who will enjoy his company

Lived off the coast of Blackpool in the Isle of Man, he used to visit Fleetwood quite often. Always had time for the kids a true gent and a legend as an actor.

Will be sadly missed

Pugwash,you have taken my post the wrong way,i thought Norman was great,it fact,when i was in a orphanage,Norman came to see us all,he gave us sweets and a signed photo of himself,is being gay a scandal ?
