Help please. In order to rent a property here do I need to have a TC 'friend' to act as guarantor?

Perhaps I should add that my other half is Turkish (mainland), maybe they think that if he loses his job here he will do a runner .....

Maybe they are just trying to find an excuse not to rent to you as there are many bad stories about who and who not to rent to, especially on this forum.

I am not saying that anyone should not be trusted or that the landlords are correct in thier decisions, just trying to point out that on this forum there does seem to ba a large section of members who have heard stories and then decide to suggest not to rent to anyone but ex-pats (a very broad spectrum of people, but I think it is a polite way for them to say british)

I don't think I have ever heard of the Turkish guarantor ruling before but, and this is only my opinion, do you really want a landlord who makes you feel untrusted before you even start the contract.

no you only need a guarantor with the electricity, in the case of students! Possibly mainlanders, not in renting, his just fearful of not getting his money, and i dont blame him, it may even be the way he wants it, it is his property and whatever makes him feel safe i guess
