I had flights booked with kthy and paid by Santander credit card theyn are refusing to pay up as they say i have not tried to contact KTHY and cannot produce a denial letter from them. It seemsSantander are unable to access the web by themselves and say i must send them a copy of the web page that says kthy are no longer trading. Anyone any ideas how i can get round this So much for customer care!

Hi we applied through Nationwide Credit Card were advised to send a letter giving full details of when we were 1st aware of KTHY ceasing trade stated there was no reply to phone calls and that we had no other choice but to claim back on the credit card. The money was refunded within 2 weeks onto our credit card. Good luck.

Google Santander full company details with all names of Directors, HQ address etc. then issue them with a small claims county court judgement, forget the cost but around £30, and see how quickly they will respond. Summon the Chairman's name to appear. All your costs will be refunded should you get judgement. Richard

You need to claim under Section 75 of the CCA (I think its that) Google it. I have the Civil Aviation web site page that I printed off at the time that I can let you have a copy of, but not back in UK until 21st Oct. That clearly shows CTA ceased trading. HSBC refunded me within 2 weeks of applying, back in July.

We are still trying to get our money refunded into our account off Tesco visa. We had to send a letter stating that on the day we were due to fly out the aircraft didnt arrive. Thankfully we had flights booked on the same day with Turkish airlines, so we posted the letter at the airport a month ago and still no money, All we can do now is sit and wait, its only been going on since June.

Santander is a bank run by Spanish mafioso, bullies and con artists. They are are not fit for purpose and removed my account from Abbey when they were bought out by these thieves who tried, but failed to pinch my monies. Funnily enough they succumbed very quickly to the 'Banking Ombudsmen' when they were asked to resolve matters. I think I got about £50 in compensation. Richard

On reading the above I think I must have been really lucky: one phone call to MBNA explaining the problem, they rang me back within a week and refunded my card that day - dıdn't even have to fill in a form .... I still have some documents I copied just in case of problems, I can e-mail them to you if you think they would be helpful

Hi I purchased tickets using my Halifax credit card (Bank of Scotland) I made my claim in writing and they replied with letter requesting copies of the administrator's/liquidator’s letter, copies of correspondence from CTA and please reply within 21 days or thats it. I left it and left it. Then 20 days on I get call from Bank of Scotland card services, they were great and very understanding of my dilemma and said just send your e-tickets and we will do the rest. So I am hopeful.

As if CTA staff are going to provide you with necessary documentation after they have lost their jobs! CCJ is the only way to treat the rip off banks. Richard

Tesco have now refunded our money, its only taken 4 months and they say if they get information to say CTA are still in operation they will take the money back. How about that for good customer service (not).
