I have just noticed that you can now get ITV2 HD for those lucky eneough to have a big dish and HD maybe it works also with a 1.8

Hi Mark, just tried that and i cannot get the symbol rate to go to 29500, it only goes between 27.5 and 22.0



Mustafa ( iceman ) phoned me with the code for the itv1 hd channel and it works great, i have to go to other channels to watch it. When i have tried to watch itv1 through the normal listings i get the no satalite found message, just thought it would be the same sort of thing with itv2 but no problem i have enough to watch.

Hi Mark, no, i do have a sky hd box but only get itv1 hd from the settings mustafa gave me. If i try to go via the normal menu i get the no satalite signal found message, this is for itv1 hd and itv2 hd.

Well i dont know whats happening now, but i've just tried the 225 on the normal setting and it has come on. But the itv1 channel 178 still wont come through but i can get it from the other channels page!!!! very strange, but at least i can now get itv2 .

the explanation is simple !



ITV HD is broadcast from two different transponders... one is stronger in CY than t'other..



ITV2 HD should work on a 1.8m, as it is on a stronger transponder...

Hi all, just looked at this thread as I can also get ITV1 HD as an additional channel like Geoff has described but cannot add ITV2 HD as the symbol rate 29500 provided above is not an available option on my Sky HD box (it only allows 22000 and 27500 as mentioned above). I also can't view it through the normal channel list on 225. Does anybody know if there is a way to manually overtype the symbol rate or will it work on another transponder?

If you CAN't get it on 225 (?!) - then your dish setup can't be correct / dish is too small - if you can get ITV HD then you should get ITV 2 HD..



You need to consult the person who installed the dish..



If it is installed correctly and it isn't too small, then PERHAPS they might be a military / 3G mobile mast that is causing inference ?

jbarnett, as i said i had trouble with getting the 225 channel to work, but it does now. I tried it yesterday around midday and got the no satalite message, so left it till later in the day, around 6pm and it worked then. I remember Mustafa telling me that the signal is weakest during the late morning/early afternoon, so maybe this is the reason. All i know is that it works at night so i have another channel to watch. Hope this makes sense, Geoff.
