Richard, One thing to make sure of, the new chimney must have good deep foundations (they weigh a bit) and be adequately tied into the wall of the house...



You may not be able to spot this when viewing a recent build.

Just a thought but... I wouldn't bother with a chimney, just get a nice looking metal flue made and you'll gain all the heat normally lost up the chimney.

D'ya know? I was thinking about doing the same thing. I know the heat radiates from the internal flue nicely but a faux chimney breast/construction on the outside with the flue running up inside it would improve esthetics.

sorry about the handle then. stick it on with silicone or superglue, once its on , its on, I moved it about after I gluedd it, prob why it didnt hold.

Ill be comin round to buy it back the way its goin.

You dont need to build flue if you can get a twin wall flue system just cut through wall and run up above gutter level .look on line for size and advise.
