Current rate of exchange is 2.21TL to the £1. Best rates are always at the exchange office next door to the GokTur Travel Agency. From the Pia Bella get on to the main road and head for the central water fountain roundabout. Straight on and on your left is the exchange place.

I assume it is better to pay in Sterling ? Any help guys most appreciated. Kindest regards K |

"but looks like the TL is falling & has been for a few months now" The TLhas been on the rise for a few months... that's why you get less for your pound.

Knightrider Most of the exchange shops will give you 0.01 or 0.02 above what the banks will give you. In all honesty, unless you are changing 1000's of pounds, it doesn't make a huge difference. An increase of 0.01 in the exchange rate will give you an additional 10TL (or 2 beers) for every £1000 that you exchange. Paul

The TL is very stable now, more so than the pound or dollar it is only reacting to changes in these currency's in the world market, I would rather have money in TL than most other currencies at present.
