My hisbiscus are in a right old state, all staggly does anyone know when it is best to prune them, and can you prune them hard (about half the size) without damaging them? Thanks

Mine was looking yellow leaved and poorly in August so cut right back to a 12 - 18 inches and in full green leaf now and looking healthy.

You can cut them back very hard and they will come again stronger, don't let them get leggy

It may be worth adding here that plants, like us, need feeding. How many of you plant lovers actually feed your plants what they need? Check the plants requirements and give it/them a treat in early spring. No matter what you grow they will appreciate it.

Yes chegwin well said,it is worthwhile feeding the plant as you get better growth and flowers, granular feed is available from Green Garden just on the West side of Girne which I think is the best garden center here, Perova is good as well I understand.

All plants here will withstand severe cutting back almost at any time, however if you want the best from them it is better to follow the needs of the plant, if it is a "crazy" plant then cut as you wish.
