If you've nothing better to do today you might like to find the differences I've spotted at the Roman fish ponds in Lambousa. If you've never been there - do go! Read a bit about it and realise you are watching a way of life in Cyprus of circa 2000 years ago. (If there's any interest I'll be pleased to introduce the history of the Roman fish ponds to you).

But first: how many differences do you spot on these two pictures (I'll give the right number later today)?

RE msg 4, spangles: I'll do that this week and put text/pics on one of my websites - I'll announce it here when it's ready. It means I don't have to annoy too many people on this board with culture...

Hans. The Roman Baths are on my list to visit in December, I got some information from http://www.whatson-northcyprus.com is there any other information about places to see, we have done all the usual ones many times and would like something different this year, we hire a car for the 5 weeks we are there so plenty of time to travel.

Sorry, my eyes can't cope with the small size of the pictures. Did notice the big rock in the shallow water was gone, but how come the cloud formation is the same in both. It looks like both pictures were taken within a few seconds of one another.

Hi frontalman! Look at the clouds again, Sir... And it is one and the same photograph! The second picture was "Photoshopped" - i.e. using special software objects were removed or changed without a trace... Keep searching and good luck!

Hey Dutch, I've got 11...but I'm not telling which one you've missed.

I like your new mission. The TRNC photos are great, as is the generation of interest in them.

Keep it up.

On an Apple computer I can press the keys Apple and + to make the pictures larger and larger in steps. There must be a way to do that on a PC as well. Is there anyone out there who knows the key combination on a PC? (Just to help people who find the pictures to small for their tired eyes...). Thanks for the right tip!

=> The Cyprus section of my site "All About All Crusades" [ http://www.allcrusades.com ] may give you some ideas, I hope.

Thank you, chiangbill! So for Windows (all versions, I suppose?) it's Ctrl and + ; for Mac it's Command (or Apple) and + .

Julia, tomorrow morning I'll send you some information (including a map). Right now we're ready to bring my Dutch friend to Ercan and it will be late before we're back. Kind regards, Hans Doeleman.

Thanks Hans. That was really interesting, once the picture was large enough for my poor eyes! Also thanks Woodspeckie for the link to what's on I didn't know about that website.

Jerski

That is fantastic information thank you. I have now found it on google earth and can see the fish tank as well as the inlet and outlet water flows. It looks massive. As soon as my leg is out of plaster I will go and see it for real. Thanks for that information.
