Friends returning from holiday here in the North flying from Larnaca to Gatwick

Bought tobacco in Larnaca D/free,paid in Stirling were given change in T/Lira.

Asked for sterling or even euro but were told not possible

Strange, they normally throw kurus back at you if they are mistakenly given.
