Pink Floyd at the recording of part of the "Ummagumma" live album at Manchester College of Commerce. Also on the bill was Roy Harper, Edgar Broughton Band and....Pete Brown's Battered Ornaments...great name!

However...I also saw John Mayall's Bluesbreakers just before this. This was the post Laurel Canyon band.

Hi Dusterbruce, my future wife and I were at that same venue to see the Beatles in 1963 - that was when Helen Shapiro topped the bill. I didn't know my wife then and it was only many years later that we found out that we were at the same show. It was the Beatles first UK tour and the applause for them on the night was far bigger than what Helen got.

The Beatles headed the one nighter that I saw in Nov 1963. My mate and I had legged it off school and spent 48 hours camped outside the cinema to get tickets when they went on sale a month before. There was a virtual riot when the box office finally opened on the Saturday morning.
