Last night, after having a few months respite of my arms being pulled out of their sockets and enjoying my 4.2 km walks, the dreaded sound of the goat bells were heard and soon to follow with the cooler afternoons the bikes will follow. Please please keep your dogs under control where the goats roam especially after hearing a friend's dog was poisoned on a mountain walk, I would put my neck out by saying preparing for the goats return. Unfortunately here, this seems the only way they use to control what may harm the herd. My two terrors until next year will be back on their five metre leads especially around birthing time as I cannot trust them and definitely would not put someone else's living at risk.

Thanks for this, I also wouldn't 100% guarantee my boy wouldn't go mad for the goats and would be mortified if he killed or maimed someones livestock.

Pleasure, I have always been warned when livestock have been injured / killed therefore only had the one poisoning in the household and i was told later someone was trying to find me that night to say the herd had been attacked but then I wave to the farmer and whoever is with the goats and he sees my two terrors are on their leads all the time and my collie (being more intelligent, obedient) is when in the vicinity of the herd. Last year i was dragged about twenty yards due to some english person having their dog off the lead and mine gave chase after it. Unfortunately the herd was closeby so the only alternative was to hang on until my weight (alot of it!) slowed them down. Black and blue for ages - and grateful i was a school milk person - no broken bones!
