I received a email from msn saying my email is to be closed down and needed me to confirm my username and password and for some stupid reason I responded and this morning my password was changed and hijecked and everyone on my email has been sent a email called help asking for funds .I have several contacts here who have become my email contacts please delete the email address sheerhait@msn.com and I will have it changed on my profile sorry

I had the Help mail too and and I knew it was spam. I made the same mistake once and gave my password but never again.

Only this morning I had an e.mail purporting to be from a friend and telling me that I can now view his pictures. When I clicked on the link it asked my hotmail address and my password. No way.

I can't use my password ,they changed it once they had my password,so my email is blocked to me,I have tried to communicate with msn,if any one knows how to contact them let me know ,sheerhair was not the main account holder so will try the email that opened the account and charges me every year later this evening

the thing is the page had everything to do with hotmail so I got sucked into it,I wont respond to anything ever first thing in the morning until I have had coffee and cleaned my eyes

There is a serious point here... no real company with whom you have a user-name and password relationship would ever ask you to respond to a link in an email..... Genuine emails from the likes of MSN always ask you to visit their website independently of the email... and do not include links.

Basheer, if you click on Forgot my Password, and go through the choices, they will send you a new one to the account you nominated as the second email address when you created it.

The same thing happened to a friend in the UK earlier this week.

I got an email to the effect that he was in trouble and needed £200k immediately and could I please send it.

When I rang him he knew nothing about it but later found the email had gone to all his private and business email contacts.

Would anybody really fall for this scam and send some cash without checking?

the email address has also moved to an alternative email was told if I ever had a yahoo email as thats where it is now

mmmmmm eventually msn blocked my email from the hackers and after proving i was the owner of that email they transfered all contacts,folders ,sent mail to hairmanager email account

still don't know the situation of my previous email sheerhair status, probably closed down and frozen as i cant yet open the email and assume the hackers lost control too, better late then never ,hopefully the hackers who took control of my account cant send any more spams to my contacts

let me know if further emails come from sheerhair or spam emails related to the issue thanks for your help and others too
