Hi ,

I am new to this forum so apologies if this has been covered-I couldnt see it had....

I am hoping to relocate to North Cyprus in the next few months from Turkey. I know how hard is it to find work with a company who want to apply for the work permit for you and I dont want to risk working without one. So I wondered if it is possible to work in South Cyprus in Nicosia but live in the North?

Is it do able and what would it involve? if you have the 90 day visa you could cross over daily without paying visa entry each time etc..is it practical?

any advice would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

re msg lexharvey amd ZC

lexharvey welcome to the forum

If you are an EU Citizen you can arrive in the 'rump' RoC and start to work... you can make a biz as self-employed or be and employee, or start a Ltd company .. You simply have to register within 3 months of arrival at Imiigration and register to pay National (social) Insurance

Residing in the 'North'.... I'd get myself a 'rump' RoC address - for admin purposes ... !

I've asked the same Q many times - as I considered living in the 'north' ( but working in 'south' Nicosia ) if the Anan vote has gone through YES/ YES in 2004

We know Turkish Cypriots do it.. but I STILL don't know how it would work if you aren't a 'TRNC' citizen..

Would you pay tax twice ?!

Do you 'register' as a Worker in the 'north' - as you aren't working in the 'north'? - I, too, would like a definitive answer..
