After the various comments on the pain of cortisone injections in previous threads, I had to write and let people know they can be painless(well almost). On Tuesday I went to Near East Hospital and had 4 in my back for 4 bulging discs. I have had it done privately in England before, but I have to say they were superb here, at the hospital, and I hardly felt a thing. I got my own private room, TV and bathroom, and the hospital is immaculate, and the staff very friendly. While not everyone does speak English, the doctors did, and they also had someone with me who spoke excellent English, to see me through each stage. It is a new hospital, so still a few little things that they said they are sorting out. Mainly if you ring, although they don't say press 9 for English, that is what you have to do. If I ever need to have an operation here, I now know I can go to a hospital with complete confidence.

Just an amendment to calling the hospital. If you dial 0392 4440535, they do now say press 9 for English.

I have to be honest. I think the reason they didn't hurt was becaue they weren't the same as those done in England. Relief was really only for a couple of weeks, but still the care and attention was great..
