Hi have asked this question before. Tried an all rounder from Maplins and also one from TRNC but none of them work. It is for a Manhaton air con unit and have took the remote to tin pan alley and quite a few shops with no luck. We have two of these aircon units in the bedrooms and one remote works them both but have come over with friends this time and really has not worked out. If we can't get hold of one is there any other solution other than buying a new aircon unit? Brend

Manhattan is a made-up name on a piece of generic air conditioning equipment, i.e. it could have been called anything that the buyer wanted. It is probably known by lots of other names on lots of other air conditioners in lots of other places. Chances of getting a spare remote are, well, remote.

There's got to be a gap in the market for a smart controller a bit like the learning ones you can get to control all your other remote operated systems....

Where did your a/c come from? Did your builder supply it? Ask him for a source of spares. Did you buy it yourself? Can't the supplier help you?

You might not believe this but we bought on Bufavento and our estate agent (Yalkins) sorted everything out for us. He even had a lovely helpful girl called Christina take us round for a full day to buy the furniture. He organised the aircon and I think he got it from Lefcosia. We have had it regassed a couple of times but nothing else over the 5 years its been in. Brend
